Code: Pathways

"Yuuki, Bishop is coming here in 13.389 seconds. We better hurry to get out." Grabbing her hand in surprise, I forced the door opened as we went toward the left. A thin ice stabbed the door by us, making me sigh in relief we got out in time.

"Wait, what, how? Daichi, what the kami-sama are you doing?" Exasperated by my recent behaviors, she took my hands and started running on the side of me.

"I found my Code, no big deal. Come on, let's go take a detour back to where we were at." The Headquarter is a circle. The rooms connect to one another, but it always leads to one place. The Head's Office. We took a shortcut through the dormitory, and found Raika limping through the area.

"Aho! What're you doing!" Raika screeched, before I quickly Princess carried her. "You little despicable bastard!" She yelled as we finally reached the area.

"Nakamura, what happened?" Shion was badly injured with her leg bleeding from a punctured ice wound and Kiriya was holding his arm. It's practically hilarious how the Head hasn't come down at all.

"Tch." Looking behind me, I see the witch, her blue eyes cracking at me. She was holding a ice ball in the middle of her palms, ready to initiate the attack.

"Nakamura!" Raika took Yuuki in the shadows quickly, as I pushed Shion out of the way. She threw the ball at high speed, to hit me in the leg. I kicked it back, aiming for her stomach. Perfect.

Her other weakness, is that she can only freeze once. That's why the ball couldn't freeze me again on the leg. It must hit a heat comparable to it's matching. Just like water which will evaporate on contact with a heat superior than water, she cannot beat freezing and frosting together.

She was loading another Code way too quickly, the numbers were already set upon. Luxuria Burst, was written in between, as I realized the move was to kill me.

"Ascent." Numbers encircled my arm, setting the code in place. All it matters, it how fast my magic could be compared to hers. Whichever which, this battle was going to end here.

Her numbers were still scrambled, but close to becoming in perfect harmony. Estimated time was 5 seconds. Mine was 7. I willed my mind to go faster.

"Luxuria Burst." She commanded, as a ice beam was being created from her staff. Only 3 seconds till I can activate it.

2. It was gathering other particles in the air, making us feel cold. Even from a few feet away, I can hear Shion chattering.

1. The beam was as large as her, as she kept it hold. A strong move was about to kill me.

0. It was released. Aiming toward me, I put my hand forward and released the set Code.

I couldn't feel anything. Chattering, talking, or the beam anymore. Looking around, I could see everyone still, but moving slightly. The beam was getting closer, but slowly making it's way.

I stretched my hand, and saw the Codes being imprinted on my arm, still glowing. Beta. Slowed down time.

I moved quickly to the side, and panicked over the fact I couldn't go back to the fast speed we had. If Beta was to slow down time, how do I fast forward it? Return to my time period?

Suddenly, I warped back to my time period, missing the beam by a inch. Obviously, she was suppose to see that I was dead. Her eyes widened upon looking at me. She then incorporated another spell at a fast paced speed. It was the end.

My body felt exhausted, my legs were going to drop any seconds. Fortunately, my legs turned back to normal, for unknown reasons as well. I couldn't move at all. Shion noticed as I collapsed to my knees, and held my arm around her neck to support.

"Frostical Nature." Miyuki melodically said, as all of us were awaiting for the blow. It was inevitable. It was going to affect all of us.

Almost.

A blue hair lion came out of nowhere, more similar to a dog I suppose, and crashed upon contact with her. It had a magnificent mane, as if it was groomed by a professional everyday. Holding his paw against her neck, my disappearing hearing could discerns footsteps behind us.

"Miyuki of Snowflakes Fairis, surrender upon the Headquarter of Endless Paradox. As Mizuiro Kazuya, Leader of the said community, swear upon our oath, future, and War." Head came, and stood right in front of me.

"I-I swear." Miyuki stuttered, as the lion released her. Are we done? Finally?

Head cocked an eyebrow at me. With a slight smile, it was obvious that he was going to tell me something.

"You did well, Code: Pathway." How he knew my Code as a mystery as I blacked out after that.

^-^ I was hoping to finish the Freezing Bishop Arc here, but it seems I finished it, but not quite. Hope to see you in the Infiltration Arc!
