As the man stared down at his beloved canine friend
He started crying
"Oh buddy, what are we going to do? It's been days since we last ate.."
The man saw a knife on the ground
'Why is there a knife?' The man thought to himself
He looked back at his dog
He picked up the knife and threw it
As night befell them, the man heard a noise
He told his dog to hide behind him as he got up
But, he didn't hear the pitter patter of his dogs paws.
'Odd.'
He looked up and saw a man, holding a knife covered in what looked like blood.
"Can I help you sir?"
"Are ya hungry?" The man looking down at him said
To which the man crouching said "Very, sir."
The man looking down at him tossed him a slice of meat, that was bloody and fresh and walked away
The man took the meat and bit into it
'It tastes quite odd, very chewy yet tough'
Just as the man looked at the nearby dumpster, he saw a dead creature that looked like a dog
As he got a closer look
His screams echoed across the whole alleyway
The man dropped the meat and ran away from the corpse

It turned out to be his dog, who was sliced up into peices similar to the meat he ate, as he got into a public area he threw up into a trashcan and sobbed
He wondered 'What if I replaced my dog? Would I have ended up like him?'
