Start from the beginning

After a few seconds of silence, he finally speaks. "Addie..I'm so sorry. I was a such a jerk, and I'm sorry."

I look into his eyes and furrow my eyebrows in confusion. "Luke, you have nothing to be sorry for. You didn't do anything wrong." I say, rubbing my thumb against his cheek.

He shakes his head. "No, I did do something wrong. I didn't believe you. I actually pushed you and everyone else aside, even though you didn't do anything wrong. And I'm sorry for that." he tucks a few stray strands of my hair behind my ear, like he always did before. "We've known each other for about four months, but... Addison, I..."

"Luke, I love you." I suddenly blurt out, surprising him, and myself. Why the heck did I just say that. I feel my face heating up, but what's said is said and there was no turning back now. "I know I say it a lot, but I don't know... I've just never felt this way before and when I'm with you I feel like... ugh, I hate being cheesy." I ramble on.

"I'm sorry, I just wanted you to know, you know?" I sigh, looking down at my shoes.

He just stays in the same position for a solid minute, and I wasn't sure if that was a bad thing or a good thing.

"Um... I... Wow." he stutters. Luke Hemmings. Stuttering. This is just too cute.

"Well, I was about to say I love you, but you beat me to it." he chuckles, kissing the tip of my nose.

I blush. "Well, it's getting dark." he says. He stands up, brushing the tiny grains of sand off his jeans. He smiles and extends a hand towards me.

I take it and smile. He looks at my wrist which had the charm bracelet he gave me and his smile widens.

"You're probably getting bored of playing video games with us, but the guys really miss you. Well, not more than I do, but-"

I peck him on the lips, making him stop talking.

He chuckles as we break apart.

"Where's all this confidence coming from? Not that I'm complaining, though." he smiles toothily.

I roll my eyes at him and shrug. "I don't know. I'm just really happy." I say.

He laughs, picks me up as I shriek and puts me over his shoulder.

"LUCAS PUT ME DOWN RIGHT NOW!" I scream, hitting his back with my fists. I'm assuming he's running towards his car. "You know how I hate it when you just suddenly do that!"

He laughs, but continues running. "Luke Robert Hemmings, if you don't put me down right now, I swear to God, I am going to kick you in the balls!"

"Nope, not happening." I could literally hear his grin, if that was possible.

I huff in annoyance, knowing that arguing wasn't gonna do anything.

I was just glad that everything was okay. And I hope that it would stay like that, because it's where I'm at my happiest.

"Come on, we have to do something for your birthday, Adten."

"Umm... No thank you."

"Luke's right little sis. You only turn eighteen once."

"Yeah, like please? Your birthday's next week!"

I roll my eyes, and tear my gaze from my phone to the boys who were swimming in the pool in front of me.

Weird how I always hung out at Luke's, but never knew that he had a pool at the back of his house.

I wasn't swimming with them, though. I sat by the pool side, my legs in a criss cross position.

"Come on Ad, we could throw you a party!" Naty says. She was sitting on the lap of a wet Calum who came out of the pool a while ago, and sat on one of those beach chairs.

We've been teasing them the whole time about it, but they really didn't care. But they couldn't deny the fact that there was definitely something going on between them.

"Orrrr, we could live our lives like any normal day." I say. I didn't really celebrate on my birthday. Mom always wanted to throw me a party, but I didn't let her. The most I would let her do was buy me pizza and cake. That was always good enough for me.

"Aww, but that's no fun, isn't it?" Ashton says, getting out of the pool, shaking his head like a wet dog, water splashing around.

"Thanks you guys, but I'd really rather not." I say, giggling.

They give me unconvinced looks and shrug.

Luke swims towards me by the pool side. "Well, at least come in the pool and swim." he says.

"What? No." I scoff.

"Scared of the water, Addie Waddie?" he teases, splashing water at me.

"Hey!" I eye him and scoff at him again. "Pshhh, no."

"I just don't have swimming clothes." I point out. Luke pouts.

I couldn't stand it when he pouted. He was just so cute.

"Maybe next time, okay?" I say, running my hand through his wet blonde hair.

He smiles and nods. He kisses my forehead and dives back into the water.

"STOP IT WITH THE PDA, PLEASE!" Michael says. "Like, get a room."

"Naww, I think they're cute." Naty says, giggling and Calum smiles at her. Oh my god, I. Am. Shipping this.

Luke whispers something to Michael who smirks and nods his head.

He whispers something to Ashton whose eyes brighten up and he smiles. Like one of his cute smiles where his dimples came out, and I wanted to go 'awwwww' at.

What the fudge at these guys planning now?
