The Formula

Viktor POV

Arthur was first to grab the infernal. He rushed them down the halls of Company 8, being careful not to dig his fingers too far into their fragile, charred skin. I sprinted behind the blond, trying to keep up with him. Soon we made it to the lab. Arthur set them down on the large operation table. As he carefully set their head down, I saw the white flame flicker and the only clean skin left on their body slowly enclosed.

"HURRY! OUT OF HERE. I'll have them stable soon..." I yelled. The truth is, I didn't know if they would make it. The skin they had left was so... little. I don't know if their gonna survive this. No. They have to. This is the start of the fifth generation! How many times are we gonna get a priceless moment like this?

Before I knew it, my hands flung open the briefcase I carried with me and rummaged inside for a formula. Joker gave me this formula a little before I went to invade Company 8. As I stared at the light blue and white swirls of liquid substances, I thought about what he said. 'Viktor, when you invade, there might be a Gen. 5 out break like you suspected. Just so you're ready, I had this potion made for you. It will hopefully turn the infernal back to a human. You'll need to run some tests and tell me of your findings.' Ah... good times.

Anyway, no time for reminiscing. I spread the infernal's charred lips just enough to see the tip of their crisp tongue. I carefully poured the solution into their charred mouth. Nothing happened.

"SHIT!" I kept checking their eyes, stomach, throat, and heart for any signs of the infernal inside of them withdrawing. None of it seemed to change. I stared down at the infernal; small burst of fire came from its skin, but not as large as when we first saw them in the intersection. Was my Gen. 5 plan really going to fail? Joker's gonna be so pissed...

Just as I was about to give into my wobbly knees and crash to the floor in sorrow, a fiery white flame burst all over the infernal's body. I stumbled backward into the shelf full of different mysteries as my laboratory illuminated.

Captain Obi and Vulcan barged into the room with Lieutenant Hinawa not far behind. "THE HELL IS HAPPENING," Captain yelled.

I scooted around the blazing white fire and hid behind my Captain. "Sir, I used a formula on them. I had no idea if its going to work, but this happened instead. The infernal said that they had a third generation power; that could be the power amplifying."

"Calm it down before it burns us all to dust. Now," Lieutenant Hinawa's voice was stern and fierce, as usual. Just as I went over to find a way to calm the flames down, they suddenly stopped. All the flesh and skin was back on the person that laid on the operation table.

They looked at me with squirted eyes. They didn't seem fully healed by the way they winced, but I could tell they were fine. "Oh. Hehe. I'm still alive; look at that!" They saw the rest of the people around me and continued, "Oh. Hello, sir. Sir's friends," then immediately fell back asleep.

It stayed silent as all four of us stared, dumbfounded at the person laying on the bed. "... the hell just happened...," Vulcan asked.

"Whelp," I started, "We know they're alive! I'll get more information soon and tell you, sir. For now, let them sleep." With that Captain Obi, Vulcan, and Lieutenant Hinawa went on their ways.

When I knew they were one, I slumped on the wall next to the sleeping person. "JEEZ... I need a break." I looked back at the person on the operation table. "Nothing like taking notes on a new anomaly, though..." I immediately hopped up and took a seat next to my new patient.

(In that SpongeBob voice) 24 hours later...

I woke up with my head slumped on the operation table and my notepad with all the anomalies characteristics... gone? Wait... "WHERE THE HELL IS THE ANOMALY?!" I got up so fast that I must have gotten whiplash. One way or another, I had to find them. I searched around the room until I saw a small figure looking at all my potions in the corner.

They were dressed in nothing but a large hospital dress that went down to their knees. I slowly walked up behind them just for them to turn around. I was greeted with a wide pair of bored eyes, one white and husky blue, one red and orange. White hair, parted to the right, was loosely hanging from their head. It only went down to their upper neck, though. A red strand hung in front of their eyes and button nose. Their mixed skin tone was just like the one the infernal had on their chest... wait.

"Wait a damn moment... Are you the infernal?" My voice was deep and horse since I just woke up.

"Ah. Hello, sir," I hear the person's deep, lazy, yet kind voice say. "Do you mind explaining why I can burst into a white fireball? I have a feeling that's not normal..."

I tried to speak, but no words came out except, "Obi and Joker need to see this. Haijima can find out on their own. They can't take away my anomaly. "
