I heard knocking at the door and rushed to get it. I opened the door to a woman and a man I didn't recognise. The woman had blonde curly hair like mine and the man was wearing a bow tie.
"Hello. If you're selling something, don't bother. My dad doesn't like buying stuff from people at the front door." I said
"Oh don't worry, we're not selling anything. We've come to have a bit of a chat. Has your dad told you we were coming?" The man answered. "I would sonic the door to get in, but that seems a bit rude."
"Okay. I'll tell my dad you're here. What are your names?"
"I'm the Doctor, and this is my wife, River Song." Said the man.
"B-but but you're book characters! You're in a book! How are you on my doorstep? Am I dreaming? Or hallucinating?" I blurted out.
"It's complicated." She said. Still reeling from the shock I call up to my dad
"There are some people here to see you dad! They're called the Doctor and River Song." My dad rushed downstairs.
"Hello Brian! Haven't seen you in a while! How are you?" Said the Doctor
"How do you know my dad?" I asked him
"I think we should all come inside." My dad said. "We have a lot to talk about."

Once we were all seated in our living room, I finally asked
"What on earth is going on?"
"Well, I've been meaning to tell you this for a long time Jaz, but I'm not your birth father."
"Umm... I don't care! You're still my dad to me, even if we're not related." I said "But why are they here then?" I continued, gesturing at the Doctor and River Song.
"It's complicated, but we've got all the time in the world, so I think we can manage to explain it." My dad replied.
"Soo... where do we start?" The Doctor said.
"At the beginning of course, sweetie." River Song said
"What is the beginning though?"
"Aah... good question. Maybe at my birth? Or my regeneration? Or when you met Amy and Rory? Or shall we just go with a family tree first? That's not quite as complicated as the rest."
"Yes, family tree of the Ponds/Williams! Does anyone have any paper?" The Doctor pulled a pen out of his pocket. "Oh! I forgot about this! I have a sonic pen!" He pressed something on the pen and the end lit up while making a strange buzzing noise. I looked around and grabbed my notebook off the coffee table. I ripped out a page and handed it to the Doctor.
"Here, you can use this."
"So, first there's me." My dad said. The Doctor was scribbling down a very messy family tree on the paper. He held it up for me to see.
"Rory and Amy are next, that's my son and my daughter in law. They got married and had a child." my dad continued.
"That was me." River added "and then I married the Doctor and we had you: Jasmine Melody Williams."
"That doesn't sound very complicated(aside from the fact that my dad is actually my great grandad and he's only 54."
"The complicated bit comes when you look at timelines sweetie. Right now, me and the Doctor are at similar points in our timelines, where we are both married to each other and we both know about you, but there are points where we've met and had no clue who the other was. I met my parents many times, both before and after they knew I was their daughter. I was even their childhood friend and grew up with them here on Earth."
"So... how does that work?"
"Time travel sweetie."
"Time travel is real?!? How does that work? That can't be possible!" I said in disbelief
"It's not possible for humans, but luckily enough I'm not human!" The Doctor said in response. My mouth fell open in shock
"If that's what you look like when you find out I'm a Time Lord I can't wait to see how you react to my TARDIS!"
"Honestly, I'm surprised that I'm surprised. After 2020 I thought that I'd never be surprised again." I replied.
"Yeah, 2020 was a horrid year all throughout the universe. Took one look at it and left, never to return."
"I'm not surprised" I said with a laugh. River cleared her throat.
"You're going off on a bit of a tangent sweeties." She said. "Back to the matter at hand."
"Yes! What we're trying to say is, we're your birth parents, we always meet in the wrong order, we have a time machine, I'm 100% alien, River is 50% alien and we want you to come adventuring with us." The Doctor said, all in one breath.
"Is it dangerous?" I asked
"Oh yes!" The Doctor replied, rubbing his hands together in delight.
"Can your time machine get us out of trouble if our lives are in danger?"
"Yes, no, maybe, sometimes, usually!" The Doctor replied. I turned to my Dad
"Can I? Please?" I asked
"I suppose so." He replied. He turned to the Doctor and River. "You bring her back safe, you don't let what happened to her grandparents happen to her."
"On my life she will be safe!" The Doctor answered.
"Well sweetie, it's time to show you the TARDIS!" River said. She stood up and walked outside. Me and the Doctor followed her. On our front lawn there was a police telephone box from the 1960s.
"You have a time machine that looks like a police box?!? I expected it to be a bit more sci-fi and modern looking." I said
"I landed in 1960s England and the chameleon circuit jammed so now it's stuck as a police box."
"I could fix it sweetie" River interrupted
"I like it as a police box!" The Doctor replied indignantly. "Anyway, it's a lot more sci-if on the inside." The Doctor put a key in the lock and turned it, opening it up. He stepped through the door and beckoned me to follow him. I walked inside and gasped.
"I- it's- it's bigger on the inside!"
"I know, how cool is that?" The Doctor said proudly. I just nodded as I was too shocked to say anything else. "So! Where do we go first?"
