After a long night, the sun finally rises and Riker once again wakes up. The first thing he does is walk over to me and say good morning . You might be wondering why I'd ever attempt suicide since I have someone like Riker in my life, but it's the things Riker and I have done that have pushed me over the edge.

I hear a knock at the door and Riker answers it. Stormie (Riker's mom) and Rydel (Riker's younger sister) come inside the hospital room. Both of them sit down on the side of my bed.

"How are you feeling, Amber?" asks Stormie. She gives me a look of sympathy and I give her a weak smile.

"I'm alright, I guess," I say.

I look over at Rydel, who's on the verge of tears. She sniffles. "Mom, can I talk to Amber alone, please?" she asks her mom. Stormie nods and her and Riker leave the room. Rydel turns to me immediately. "Why'd you do it?" she asks as a tear streams down her face.

I sigh. "Because I freaking hate my life, Rydel." I say while fidgeting. I can feel tears forming.

"Promise me that you'll never try and kill yourself again," she mutters. I stay silent. There are no guarantees that I won't try it again. "Amber Daniels!" Rydel raises her voice. "Promise me that you will never attempt suicide ever again!"

"Fine." I murmur, "Does your mom know why all this happened?"

"No. We just told her that you were hurt and that it was an emergency." says Rydel, "But she's gonna wanna know why you were stabbed soon. What do you want me to tell her?"

"The truth. Stormie deserves to know," I say. Just as I say that, Stormie and Riker walk back in.

"Are you two finished?" Stormie asks. Rydel and I nod. Stormie looks at me, "Amber, I didn't want to stress you out and ask you too many questions but... How did this happen?"

I sigh and look over at Rydel. She nods slightly as if telling me to do it. "I did this to myself... at least that's what they told me. I don't remember doing it though," I mumble, avoiding eye contact.

"Amber.. please tell me you didn't," Stormie starts. I nod and Stormie gasps as her eyes begin to water.

After Stormie lectures me for about an hour, her and Rydel leave. Riker and I aren't alone for long, though, because someone else comes to visit me. My foster parents.

8 Months Ago (August 2, 2014)

After we looked under the stars for a while, Riker opened the car door for me and I sat down in the passenger's seat. He got behind the wheel and turned to me, "Where to, my lady?" he asked.

"Surprise me," I said while giggling. He shifted the gear to drive and smirked. I looked out the window as he drove us to the movie theatre. He opened the car door for me like a gentlemen, and the two of us held hands as we walked inside. It was already about 9 o'clock, but we didn't care. We bought our movie tickets, walked into the theatre and shuffled into the back row. The theatre was pretty much empty, except for a man who sat in the middle row.

About two and a half hours later, the movie ended and Riker drove me home. He walked me up to my front door and passionatly kissed me before waving goodbye and driving away.
