Y/N POV
"I love you Y/N." My mom said, giving me a bazillion hugs. "I love you too, mom, but I need to breathe," I say. Many times, I've been called the wisecracker of the L/N family.
"Hey kid, try not to pick too many fights." My dad said, then added, "But if someone does fight you, do me a favor and win." "Edward!" My mom called out. "Don't listen to him. He doesn't know what he's saying."
After giving me another hug, my mother stepped to the side so my father could get a goodbye. "I'll miss you, dad." "I'll miss you too, son." He kneeled down and whispered, "Win those fights. like you always do." I smiled and laughed. "I try."
I am American. Born and raised in New York, I'm proud to say. I had been waiting for my Ilvermorny letter since I had turned 11. Finally, months later, an owl came. But it wasn't what I expected.
"Mom, Dad, I've been accepted to... Hogwarts?" All three of us had thought that owl had got the wrong house. But my name was on the letter and everything.
So, we had to go to the nearest wizard store to find everything on my list, everything from books to supplies to clothes. Even after, I was still confused. I had sent a letter saying that they had got the wrong wizard. Days later, I got a response saying I was chosen to be a "transfer student".
Anyway, after saying my final goodbyes, I stepped onto the Hogwarts Express. I asked people in compartments that weren't full if I could sit there. I either got a response of "No" or "Bloody Yank". I finally found a compartment that was occupied by a girl with bushy brown hair.
"Hullo. May I sit here?" I asked, putting on the worst British accent I had ever heard. Yeah, that wasn't gonna fly. She looked like she could see right through my accent. So, I reverted to my regular accent.
