A heart for two

chapter one

The sun shines through the curtains of Emilia's room waking her up to another beautiful morning , and another unemployed day.

" knock knock, sleepy b!tch you got a job to find " says Jeffery opening the door on frowny Emilia sitting on the bed in her naruto pajamas .

Jeffery Vega , a blond gay man from Nebraska and one of Emilia's best friends ,and currently her roommate. Being the great friend that he is, Jeffrey offered Emilia a room in his apartment since she's out of work and can't afford a rat hole in New York .little bit harsh on her maybe? But it's true ,Emilia is currently at Rock bottoms basement ,trying her best to climb up but no luck what so ever . From ten's of job applications ,not one of them was useful . She's now disappointed, frustrated and on the verge of giving up .

" you know what Jefferson, maybe I'm not suppose to find a job maybe a job is supposed to find me " she speaks to Jeffery in a sarcastic tone earning herself a well deserved eye roll from him.

" less time humor more time searching for work " he says closing the door, then opining it again " or a sugar daddy , hurry up girl " .

" really?!? , okay I'll tell her ,I'll tell her , alright, ahah yes " Emilia walks on Jeffery speaking on the phone .
He then puts the phone down and stares at her

"what is it butter cheek?, who were you on the phone with?" she asks with a donut in her mouth.

" I was just talking to Natasha, she said she has a job for you " he responds with his arms across his chest , making Emilia put her donut and jump with joy , then notices one of her least favorite face expressions on the face of her most favorite person , a frown is never good on Jeffery's face. " what? " she asks outloud

"well, you're going to hate it " he responds trying not to look her in the eyes.

"why? I'm okay as long as I'm getting paid "she states, and it's not like she has a choice.

" you'll be working as a maid " he gives her a shocking answer .

It's not a job Emilia saw herself taking but she doesn't have another choice . She knows she has to take it even though it hurts her deeply. She never pictured herself taking this road. She's a girl who had big hopes and dreams , that crashed all at once bringing her to New York City. In New York she hoped for a fresh start , but things didn't go as planned also .but thanks to Jeffery and Natasha she's still alive.... You know what they say a friend in need is a friend indeed.

" I'll take it " she says joyful " a job is a job. As I said I'm happy as long as I'm getting paid " .

Emilia just arrived to the office of her friend Natasha, who just greeted her with the biggest smile.

Natasha Smith, an African American lawyer and the strongest woman in Emilia's life. She's a beautiful successful woman, a feminist with a strong sense of pride, smart outgoing unapologetic, all in all a woman not to mess with.

Natasha (smiling): heyyyy, girl I missed you so much.

Emilia : hii, I missed you too, how long has it been, a week?

Natasha ( laughing) : shut up stupid. okay don't have much time to waste today , so lets get right to it. I found you a job, it's not the best job out there but it's just what you need.

Emilia ( smiling sadly) : jeffs already told me about it, I'm just grateful you found me one, thank you Nat's I owe you a lot .

Natasha : oh stop it , you're my girl I'll always be here for you. Anyways here's the address, you go there and tell them I sent you .

Emilia : okay natty have a nice day !!

  Emilia left Natasha's office and headed straight to the address she gave her.
