Tooru would wait centuries if it meant that Iwa-chan would go out with him. He'd told him as much. So Iwaizumi told him to wait, told him pretty little things like, "I can't wait to date you".

So imagine his surprise when Ushijima Wakatoshi himself shows up on Tooru's doorstep telling him his boyfriend cheated on him.

"Huh?" Tooru feels anger rise in him. Who does this bitch think he is accusing Iwa-chan of sleeping with someone else. But instead of yelling at Ushijima he simply says, "Iwa-chan isn't my boyfriend Ushiwaka."

"Oh. Sorry for disturbing you then." And then Ushijima goes to leave.

Something in Tooru tells him to call the boy back. "Wait!" When the taller turns back to him with a questioning stare, Tooru can't help but ask, "Would you like some tea?"

It feels weird to have his enemy sitting in his living room on his plush brown couch. When he rounds a corner to place a white mug of jade tea in front of Ushijima, the boy points out the flowers on his coffee table. "Those are cornflowers correct?" Tooru just nods. "But, they are weeds. Why choose something you see everywhere?"

He doesn't say that they're the only flowers he knows the name of, nor does he say that he and his sister used to pick them before she left him to parents who didn't love him. "Because Ushiwaka, they're pretty."

Ushijima's eyes never leave him as he stalks around the couch to sit on a sofa off to the side. "So, when did you see Iwa-chan "cheating" on me."

The Ace takes a sip of his tea before replying. "Satori thought it would be a good idea to take me out to a party."

"The Great Golden Boy went to a party?" Oikawa taunts. But Ushijima just hums in affirmation.

Then Ushijima starts recalling everything that happened.

Parties weren't really Wakatoshi's favourite, but they made Satori happy so he thought he'd join. Although he's lost Satori and now he's sitting at the bar, nursing a ginger ale. The music is too loud and quite frankly it's also trashy. "That's just your opinion Ushiwaka." Oikawa interrupts.  Bodies are pressed together and he'd turned down quite a handful of people, having to even move away from the persistent ones.

When he wants to leave he starts looking for Satori, but someone points across the room.

Iwaizumi from Aoba Johsai catches his attention from across the room and Wakatoshi searches for his companion Oikawa but comes up empty-handed. Instead, Iwaizumi is talking to a small girl with short brown hair. His hand is on her hip and she's whispering into his ear.

Wakatoshi feels himself flood with confusion, isn't Iwaizumi with Oikawa?

A couple of people, Oikawa's teammates probably, are whispering to each other.

"He shouldn't be talking to her." One says.

"I know! That's Oikawa's ex!" The second response.

"We can't tell Oikawa!" A third drops in. All of them go silent, and Wakatoshi turns to see what's going on. The two look hesitant, "If we do, you know Iwaizumi would never forgive us! Oikawa doesn't really like Iwaizumi, do you see him flirt with everyone? He'll forgive him and us quickly."

The other two hum in agreement. Although one looks extremely uncomfortable. The third gasps and they all turn back to see Iwaizumi with his tongue down the girl's throat. He's fondling her left breast, other hand slipping down against her pant-line.

Next thing they all know he's mouthing at her throat and sucking against it sloppily.

They whisper to each other and suddenly she's dragging him out the door.

"Do... Do you know which of my teammates were there?"

Ushijima shakes his head. Of course, he doesn't, "I only really pay attention to you. You do know you could still apply for Shiratorizawa?"

Oikawa scoffs, and shakes his head, "You seriously need to stop with that." He ignores Ushijima's confused face in favour of sipping his own tea.

He feels like even though there's an awkward cloud of air around them, he should thank Ushijima. "Ushiwaka." He calls to get his attention.

When olive eyes turn on him and Ushijima says, "You can just call me Wakatoshi. If you want to use my name."

Oikawa ignores him in favour of saying, "You like gardening right?"

Ushijima nods hesitantly and Oikawa offers one of his signature smiles.

"Follow me."

Oikawa leads Ushijima to his backyard.  It's large, spanning about two thousand and five hundred square feet. The grass is a luscious green but the dirt garden is suffering.  The garden frames the yard on all sides each band around four to five feet in width.

"If you would like, you can have free range of our gardens." Surprise fills him at the amount of emotion on Ushijima's face. Of course, knowing the taller male, it's not a lot. His eyebrows are raised, eyes widened slightly and lips parted softly.

He thanks Oikawa and bows. "I need to get back now. I'll come by one day soon, thank you Oikawa."

When Ushijima leaves Oikawa's mind is filled with intrusive thoughts.

Why would Iwa-chan promise so much but give so little?

Maybe he's starting to realize that Oikawa is all the things people say he is. Maybe Iwa-chan is starting to realize that he's a cocky, arrogant and shitty person overall.

Or maybe Iwaizumi thinks Oikawa is helpless. Pushing himself so hard when he knows he struggles with his knee injury. A skull so thick you can't even understand how stupid you're being.

Is he really worth anything at all? He may be a piece of shit but did Iwaizumi have to lead him on like that?

His chest hurts.

His phone buzzes but he can't seem to pick it up. It's probably his friends. Maybe even Iwaizumi. He knows it rude to ignore them all but he's too upset to even think about answering them.

Don't be such a Bitch.

That boy is so Rude.

An Awful. Terrible. Cocky Boy.

His cheeks are wet with hot tears and he finds himself crying until he passes out.
