Out of the two people who brought me into this world,
Only one was around,
She sees this world differently than most,
I learned later on it was mental illness,

It caused so much pain,
So much sadness,

But taught me so much as well,

Taught me blood doesn't make a family,

I ended up with two kind and loving parents,

Not those who bore me,

My grandparents.

They took me in and raised me,
Taught me right from wrong,

When grandpa passed on 3/16/2019

I realized more than ever before,

He was, is, and always will be my father

My only regret is that I didn't call him so before he passed.

It has been over a year and we all miss him so,

This is the story of how I found my family. I hope you find the right one for you.
