It was late on a weeknight, so it didn't look crowded but there was a local clientele that obviously frequented the bar. Despite the late evening and overall feel of the place, there were a fair number of college students inside.
The reason was obvious. Even through the haze of cigarettes, dim lighting, and alcohol, an angel's voice called out from a small stage. Forth had downed three glasses before he was even aware of the young singer.
The boy on stage was tall enough that he couldn't be considered short but still shorter than Forth. He was solidly built, with broad shoulders and a flat chest. His clothes weren't anything special, fashionable but sensible and fitting enough to show the firm body beneath without giving too many details. His hair was a dark brown, brushed forward messily. And his face, his face was stunning.
It wasn't anything in particular about the face that made it so beautiful. It wasn't specifically the big brown eyes that were made bigger by the long lashes that framed them. It wasn't just the mouth, which was a perfect bow of pink over straight white teeth. It certainly wasn't the nose, that looked as if it had been broken at some point but served to make the face more real. But somehow the effect of all those features brought together produced a beauty that was both disarming and natural.
But all of the physical traits were of little consequence when compared to the voice that issued from his lovely mouth. Forth stared in wonder. He'd already had too much to drink, but when you've had a day like Forth's, you have to take what pleasure you can find. That boy was pleasure and Forth wanted him.
When the singer left the stage and moved to the bar, Forth could vaguely remember following him. How they'd ended up in a rundown greenhouse on the roof, he had no idea. But as the night progressed and the alcohol burned its way out of his body, all of his senses began to revive.
It was the boy, of course, that brought him back. The way he kissed, hesitant but honest, as though he held nothing back. The way the two bodies touched, molded together, melting in the heat, and being reforged to fit each other.
Forth breathed in the boy's scent, the bed shaking beneath them as he took what he needed from the boy's body. His erection pressed inside the smaller body, filling and emptying, filling and emptying in time to the soft moans that filled the air. Forth loved the way it felt, the tight ring around his cock and the warmth he felt every time he pressed himself back inside.
The boy's panting grew louder and faster, until he arched his back and bit down hard on Forth's shoulder as his orgasm rushed through. Forth's release followed quickly after. Later, when the morning light crested the horizon, he held the boy in his arms. Still soft and sweet, the young singer pulled Forth's head toward his own and pressed their lips together lazily.
"What's your name?" Forth asked, smiling as he realized that he felt better. He didn't know if it was something about the morning light or the boy's arms but he felt alive again, renewed.
"I'm Yo," the singer's speaking voice was quiet and seductive. He rubbed his nose into Forth's chest and kissed his neck once before stretching and standing. His naked body perfect in the light. "I guess you were pretty out of it when you first approached me. At least you didn't pretend that you remembered."
"Yeah, sorry about that," Forth replied, suddenly ashamed. He didn't know what he'd been thinking. He had another lover. Even if they were having problems, at this moment Beam was still his boyfriend. He stood and grabbed his clothes from where they laid on the floor and began to get dressed.
"You're leaving?" Disappointment coloring the boy's words.
"I've got classes," Forth lied. His first class wasn't until noon, but he didn't know how to face this sweet boy. He'd used the boy to make himself feel better and it wasn't fair.
"Okay," the boy looked down. Forth was already moving toward the door when the gentle voice stopped him, "Forth, will I see you again?"
"Of course," he cleared his throat to get the lie out. "I'll see you soon."
Then he practically ran away, trying to out run his guilt.
**End of Flashback**
Forth knew he shouldn't have run away that day. He should have told the boy the truth, but he realized that his behavior was as bad as Beam's. He'd gotten back at his unfaithful lover by being unfaithful and taking advantage of a boy that he didn't even know.
He rationalized it by thinking that he never made any promises or pretended to be in love. And the boy had been willing, giving his body on their first meeting wasn't exactly the key to a great relationship. But the guilt of his lies that morning still made him uncomfortable.
"Sometimes in a dark and quiet place, the truth and I meet face to face. And even if His Highness disappears, I keep some lovely souvenirs," the voice Forth still dreamed about floated through the bar. "So, I believe in heroes, and I expect that happy ending. Wishing on some rainbow, I pretend he's not pretending. Someday I'll get wise, but right now I need the lies of handsome men."
Forth frowned trying to avoid looking at the stage. Even after two years, he felt ashamed every time he thought about that voice and the eyes of the boy that went with it. That was probably the main reason he'd never come back here, even after this bar became popular with his friends.
"Isn't he amazing?" Ming breathed out, a smile plastered on his face. Both Forth and Pha looked up to follow Ming's eyes back to the beautiful singer.
"You guys seem weird," Ming said, turning to look at their faces when they didn't respond. "Is anything wrong?"
