I wake up on the ground with a sore back and an aching head.  My eyes turn to look up at a dark sky.  It was filled with swirling storm clouds but they were colored a dark red.  It looked as if pools of blood were swirling around in the sky.  I grimaced in disgust and then my eyes widened in shock as I felt myself being pulled up to my feet.  The person almost pulled my shoulder out of my socket and I groaned in pain.  I glare at the green man who grins a disgusting grin at me.  I look away from him not wanting to look him in the eyes.  We are on a hill overlooking the most dreadful scene I have ever seen. I take a step back in horror and cried out in horror.

It was out looking a forest or at least what used to be a forest.  All the trees below were burnt to a crisp and some were still on fire. Dead bodies littered the ground and I could still see some crawling around toward the river.  The river was stained red with blood and a breeze carried the smell towards me.  I double over and vomit.  I wipe my mouth with my sleeve and look back up with tears in my eyes.  Where was this place?  How could I dream something as awful as this seen before me?  I pinch my arm until I drew blood and I bite my lip trying not to cry out in pain.

Wake up! Damn it! Why won’t you wake up? I let go of my arm knowing this was useless. I was still stuck in this dreadfully endless nightmare.

Thunder strikes down at us making the green man leap away.  He still had a grasp of my arm sending me flying with him.  I think he almost dislocated my shoulder. His voice whispers for only me to hear and I cringe at how close he is to me.

          “Welcome to the Underlandssss.”

We walk through the dying forest and it took all I had not to burst into tears.  The women were crying out and begging me to help them.  I heard shrieks from everywhere and I wanted to cover my ears.  We walked on for what seemed like forever until we came to a large estate.  It sent chills down my spine and I tugged on my jacket nervously.

Standing at the sides of the massive ebony doorway were two men.  I looked, took a double take, and sighed.  Of course, they had beaks.  Their yellow eyes were turned down into a permanent glare and I sighed again.  I was too tired and too mind numb to care or be scared anymore.  This was all just a very elaborate dream that my twisted subconscious made up.

The large doors open up and I am now being pushed down the hall.  It was actually very elegant on the inside.  Like a medieval castle except in a gothic and creepy way.  They shoved her through another large door and she was now in a large throne room.  Sitting in the large decorated chair, with his legs dangling over the arm of the throne, was a very handsome gothic young man.

He was dressed in plain black pants and shirt.  He had a piercing on his lip that seemed to just fit him perfectly.  His mussy black hair swished to one side and his eyes were a piercing gray. He seemed like a normal teenage boy except of course the goth part.  He smiled down at me from his large throne.   The heat rose crept up my face and I took a step closer.

“Thank god! You actually look human! I was starting to think this whole place was just filled with freaks.”

The green man hissed from behind. I look back at him with a meek grin.  “No offen… Wait a second! Yes offense! You’re a jerk and a freak. There I said it.”  I finished with folding my arms crossed then jumped as the goth boy erupted with laughter.

I don’t know when but he somehow appeared right in front of me.  A slender finger twirled with a strand of my hair.  I slapped his hand away and backed up.  He turned to the freaky green goons.

“Leave.”  His smooth voice sent chills down my spine.  I actually don’t think I wanted to be left alone with this guy.  Ew, that means that I wanted to be around the green guy longer.  The large door slammed shut and echoed through the room.

“You don’t know how long I’ve waited to meet you.”  He said as he smiled at me.  His eyes moving up and down examining me.  I felt another blush make its way to my face as I sucked in my gut a little.  This guy was making me extremely self conscious.

“Who are you?  Do you know how I can wake up from this nightmare?”  His eyes widened slightly and he chuckled in amusement. I glared at this hot goth freak.  Why did it feel like he was always laughing at me?

“Nightmare, hmm? I suppose you could think of it like that.  This is a nightmare you cannot escape I am afraid. Let me introduce myself. My name is Tian.  Pleasure to finally meet you Alice.”

“What do you mean I can’t escape? It’s my dream! I can do whatever the hell I want!”  I push past him but he grabs my upper arm and I couldn’t pull away.

“Such a fiery soul.  It’s no wonder that disgrace Zane did that all for you.”

The mention of Zane’s name made me blink twice.  What did Zane have to do with this?  It was all so confusing!  But now he has made me REALLY mad!  How dare he insult the man I loved right in my face.

“Don’t go calling him any names you jerk.  He is ten times better than you’ll ever be.  And what do you mean by ‘that’?  What did he do for me?”

He thrusts his head back and his laughter echoes through the room.  I glare at him praying that looks could really kill this time.

“He hasn’t told you, has he?”

“Told me what? You really are making no sense.”

“I think it is time you know the truth about this human boy you call Zane.”

I can honestly say I did not like how this was going.  And the way he heavily stressed the words human made my hair stand on end.  If this was a dream then I would really like to wake up now.  Some things are better left not knowing.

He clicked his tongue and gave me a coy smile.  I sat nervously in a chair that had seemed to appear from thin air.  I wiped my sweaty palms against my jeans.  For some reason I was just really worried.  Of what I had no idea.

“Where to begin where to begin?”
