The land was beautiful.

Dark lavender clouds with dark buildings spiraling from the ground, their bases shrouded by the morning mist. Stars sprinkled across the clouds and shimmered with their light below, and the particularly large ones' glow pierced the mist.

Cobalt Star was proud to call this her home.

She watched the clouds as they shifted from their dark hues to a lighter one as the mist dispersed into the morning when the day broke. She could now see some star beings milling about, they carried themselves slowly to wherever they were headed, likely tired from either just waking up or having to work a nightly shift.

She happily sighed, perching her head on her hands, a smile forming on her face as she continued to watch the people. She was slightly distracted, so when there was a quiet knock at her door, she was startled, spinning in her chair to stare at the door.

After she got over her small panic, she got out of the chair and strode over to the door, opening it to reveal Intellird who looked like they were about to knock again.

After a few moments of silence, they dropped their arm, blinking their owlish eyes at her before saying, "Cobalt Star, I believe we have an... Issue."

"Hm? What type of issue?" She asked. That seemed to upset the bird-like sage, their feathers fluffing up as they bristled.

"I can't explain."

"You can and you will. Now speak."

"It's a new sage."

Silence blanketed the both of them before Cobalt Star gestured for them to lead the way. They quickly did so, turning and briskly walking down the hall. Cobalt Star followed behind, closing the door as she left her room and walked with them.

They walked in relative silence, and Cobalt Star was left to wonder why Intellird thought they needed to fetch her... Unless something bad or unusual had happened...

In all honesty, she wouldn't be too shocked if it came out to be that something went amiss, considering how four pieces of Sage Magic fell last time...

Gods, she hoped that something similar wouldn't happen again, she never wanted to choose one sage over the other in any situation, even when there were high stakes such as the entire planet being in peril...

She was starting to feel guilt pool in her stomach so she set her thoughts aside, instead focusing on her footsteps and breathing in an attempt to keep herself calm.

Before long they had made it to the main hall where voices were speaking in hushed, confused tones. As she entered, the voices went silent, three pairs of eyes staring right at her.

She quickly scanned over the group before spotting a bundle of blankets in one of their arms. She strode over to the sage and once she got close enough, they stood straight, bowing their head. She nodded towards the blankets and immediately understanding what she meant, they pulled back one of the blankets to reveal a yellow star sprite. Their eyes were shut as they slept, skin tinged blue and face dusted with a light silver blush.

"They were so cold when we found them." The sage softly said. Their X-shaped eyes somehow showed their empathy as clear as crystals.

"Where were they?" Cobalt Star asked while outstretching her arms.

They handed over the child as another sage-Gaurite-piped up, "Somewhere on the outskirts near Star Gate? I ain't too sure, I was half asleep when everything went down."
