A/N
hey, this is my first one shot! I'm excited, are you excited ? ( I'm unsure whether that is a rhetorical question or a real life one, you decide ) I'm doing this for fun, I'm not a great writer so this is kinda boring and I realized after writing it there is not one particular point so I'm yeah read it if you like. I don't know.

BABYSITTER

((( Grace's POV )))

You'd think I would be used to it since I travel so much, nope - jet lag still sucks a D.
'Home sweet home' I muttered to myself as Chester unlocked the door to our house. I stumbled through the front door - not drunk, not even tipsy just really fucking jet lagged and hella tired from my UK book tour.
" I'm going to shower and sleep " I declared to Chester who was engrossed by something on his phone. "mmkay" was all he managed back.

I walked into our bedroom so I could get some sleep to find Chester sitting there. "what's up?" I asked lightly high -fiveing his face.
" My sister wants to know if we can babysit McKenna while she's away for her anniversary because my mom is going in a spontaneous holiday" he said.
"umm" I hesitated "when, how long for ? " I asked.
" Well they're kinda leaving tonight and its for a week and a half, you don't have to if you don't want to grace - I can manage her on my own" he answered softly.
" Of course we can do it " I replied trying to sound confident.
"Thankyou" he Said placing a peck on my lips and replying to his sisters message.

Despite what the Internet may think, I'm not afraid of kids. Sure I'm not 100% in my element around them but they're adorable especially McKenna - I've got a little soft spot for her.

((( Chester's POV )))

I watched Grace as she threw some clothes into a bag, muttering a little list of the things she needs to her self. She does that whenever she goes anywhere, its such a small and insignificant thing but it melts my heart a little . As I watch her I feel a little smile creeping across my face. She turned around and frowned at me " why are you smiling?" she asked. "Ready to go?" I replied to her with another question. "mmmhmm" she mumbled letting out a yawn as she walked to the front door and out into the car.

"Thankyou guys so much for coming" my sister greets us at the front door, first pulling me into a hug then doing the same to grace. We followed her into the house placing our stuff in the guest bedroom and continuing into the living room where McKenna was sitting on the floor playing with a pile of blocks. My sister and brother -in-law began through a list of things we needed to know for the next week and a half but I was hardly concentrating instead I was focused on grace who had her serious face on and was clearly making mental notes of everything they said, her nose crinkled slightly causing me to smile, that smile.

"Alrighty, well that's about it. Just be good, have phone and call us if you need us." my sister said before kissing McKenna goodbye and then leaving grace and i to be babysitters.

((( Grace's POV )))

" soo, what do we do know " i asked chuckling lightly, sitting down next to Mckenna. Chester walked out of the room and into the kitchen to go make something to eat, McKenna crawled into my lap and stared up at me in the most adorable way. "Hi" i whispered to her " you're really cute, did you know that?" she gurggled happily as i talked to her " would you like a cousin?" she giggled softly " maybe you'll get one, you guys could play together. would you like that?" as i was finshing my sentence Chester walked into the room " what would she like?" he questioned slightly confused "ohhh, um , nothing " i said hoping he hadn't listened to everything i was saying. Chester grabbed his niece out of my lap and placed her on his hip "i'm gonna feed her, you should get some rest Gracie" "Mmm yeah" i replied, kissing him softly on the lips before walking into the spare room. I pottered around for a while before changing into my pajamas and climbing into bed.

I woke up to soft sobs coming from Mckenna's room, i rolled over to see Chester fast asleep, Clearly the jet lag was hitting him now so i slid out of the room almost silently careful not to wake him up and walked into McKenna's room, she was standing in her crib and raised her hands for me to lift her as soon as she saw me. "Morning Sweet pea" i whispered " how did you sleep" she rested her head on my shoulder looking up into my eyes, she makes me want to have a baby of my own.

((( Chester's POV )))

I reached my arms up in an attempt to hug Grace but she wasn't laying on her side of the bed. Sitting up i checked my phone quickly before going to find Grace. I walked into McKenna's bedroom to find Grace gently rocking her back and forth soothing her. I stood in the door way just watching. The sight of grace with a baby makes me really want to have one of her own but there's not much chance of that happening, at least not yet. Grace turned around to see me staring at them " how long have you been there? " she asked with a giggle "not long" i replied kissing her cheek lightly, as i was pulling away i muttered lquietly into her ear " you playing with kids, really fucking sexy". She hit my arm playfully before heading to the kitchen. I followed them out of the room " babe, you keep playing with McKenna. i'll make breakfast " I said.

I grabbed a couple of ingredients out of the fridge and began to cook watching the girls play on the floor. I put some mushrooms in a pan to fry knowing it's a favourite of Grace's. I heard Grace make a gagging noise " Jesus Christ Ches, what are you cooking. It smells foul. I'm sorry babe but i think im gonna be sick" She said before placing McKenna in her hair chair and running to the bathroom. " Grace, are you okay?" i ran in after her. She vomited into the tub. " Are you alright babe?" i questioned rubbing slow circles onto her back. " Yeah, i'm fine i just felt a bit sick maybe its from jet lag or something" she said weakly. She got up and walked out to McKenna. That was a little weird but i guess time zones and not being able to relax fully, she'll be ok i thought to myself as i went to back to making breakfast.

((( Grace's POV )))

It's about 3pm when McKenna wakes up from her nap. Ches is editing so I go grab her, before I take her out to where Chester is I sit on the rocking chair before her crib cradling her rocking lightly back and forth. "hey little one, I think I know what was up this morning" I whisper " I think I need to be careful what I wish for ". I just sit cradling her for a few more minutes before taking her to go play.

The days pass by pretty quickly, I've been sick a couple of others time but hid it from Chester cause I don't want him to know what's going on just yet. I've also made a habit of talking to McKenna about everything and anything. I was slightly hesitant to come but now I'm really glad I did. I'm learning about myself.

Chester's sister is coming home Tomorrow so I'm trying to make the most of the baby - I think we have some kind if weird bond or something maybe its my imagination, I don't know. Chester's got a bunch to edit this afternoon so I decide to take McKenna for a walk to get out of his hair and do something I've been putting off for over a week now.
I put her into her stroller and walk us down to the local Walmart. I've never been to this one so I spend a bit if time aimlessly wondering, putting off what I can't to do. I walk to the medical section and grab the box I need. I make my best attempt not to make eye contact with anyone as I pay and stuff the box in my bag running out of the store. When we get back I hand McKenna over and make my way to the bathroom. one line negative, two lines positive, 99.9% accuracy rate. I read through every little detail of the box. I finally siked myself up and peed on the stick. I waited the required time but I couldn't bring myself to look, nerves or excitement I'm not sure. i walked slowly out to Chester and handed it to him. "What" he stuttered " we're going to have one of our own ...
