Rainbow's POV
I out a sigh as I walked through the ruins of what was left of District 10. What used to be a beautiful place, full of flowers, greenhouses and trees, was now burned down into nothingness, leaving only ashes and bodies behind. This was what the government does. This is what the Broken Mirrors fought for. For the ones who unfairly lost their lives.
Speaking of the Broken Mirrors, I need to get back to them, quickly. Gold is probably losing her shit right now. Shoot, how long will that take me? I guess I can always run but... I want to save my energy... Oh whatever. Might as well. I take off in a sprint towards our hideout, in District 9.
That is, until I come across a surprisingly handsome boy, a knife in hand.
Author's POV (Funneh, Gold, Lunar, Draco)
KNOCK-KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK-KNOCK-KNOCK-KNOCK KNOCK
The pattern of knocks on the door echoes through the door. That was Rainbow's knock pattern, they each had their individual patterns. Draco got up to answer the door, taking one of his many weapons with him. Better be safe than sorry. Cautiously opening the door, it revealed a familiar pink-haired girl and a... boy?
Within seconds, Draco had the boy pinned to the ground with his sword pointing towards the tip of his throat.
"Who are you, and why are you here?"
Draco growled, and the boy slightly trembled, surprised and terrified of the sudden attack. Draco applied a bit more pressure on his sword until...
CLANG
Draco's sword was hit out of his hands by Rainbow's own sword.
"I brought him here, I want to recruit him, so don't scare him already!"
Rainbow replied, sending Draco a warning look.
"Can he fight?"
Lunar questioned in her quite tone, (which was quite intimidating when she wanted it to be) appearing behind Rainbow out of nowhere
"Jeez Lunar, stop doing that!"
"Doing what?"
Lunar replied to Rainbow, knowing fully well what she was talking about. Lunar was able to move and appear out of nowhere. Or as everyone else described it, she moved like the world was made of smoke and she was simply passing by. (AN: Six of Crows reference)
"You know what!"
Rainbow said back to her, as Funneh and Gold walked in.
"Hey who's this?"
Funneh asked, her eyes shimmering with curiousity. However, Gold's eyes were more wary, darting around the room, remembering where all of her weapons where stashed, trying to figure out which one is closest just in case the boy decided to attack. Well granted, he wasn't really a boy, the same age as them but...
"I want to recruit him into the Broken Mirrors."
Rainbow said once again, and Funneh's once curious face took on an extremely hostile one.
"Does he already know who we are, and does he want to join?"
Gold asked, eyeing the boy.
"I already told him everything, and Lunar, to answer your question, yes he can fight."
Rainbow told all of them.
"How do we know that he isn't a government spy?"
Draco questioned Rainbow, sending glares towards the boy.
"Because of what he told me."
Rainbow shot back. Dang, why was it so hard to just recruit someone?
"We can't trust what he told you! It could be lies for all we know!"
Funneh burst out, surprising the others a bit. She usually wasn't this hostile, why was she acting this way?
"It's okay, let's just recruit him."
Lunar spoke up, and while Rainbow shot her a thankful glance, Funneh, Draco and Gold sent one of outrage.
"You really trust him?!"
Gold asked, raising her voice a little.
"No, but if he does anything even remotely suspicious, we can just kill him. Simple as that."
Lunar replied, a small but still creepy grin appearing on her face. The grin was just to set the boy off a bit, intimidate him. Also to test how this boy would react. To her pleasant surprise, the boy only flinched the slightest bit.
"Great! This is Kai, our new member."
Rainbow introduced the boy, or Kai, who was greeted by a happy wave from Funneh, her hostility long gone, a wary glance from Gold, a threatining glare from Draco, and a blank stare from Lunar.

Also did you all notice my two references? District 9 is a StrayKids reference, and the "moved like the world was made of smoke and she was just passing by" is a direct part of a sentence from a book called Six of Crows. Well anyways, I hope you enjoyed the chapter!
