Izuku Midoriya, the new #1 hero, had just finished the tournament to decide who his two 'sidekicks' would be. He had just finished working with Todoroki and was pissed at him.
"We did a pretty good job," Todoroki said, patting himself on the back. Izuku simply rolled his eyes in annoyance and kept walking forward. "Don't you agree, Midoriya?" Izuku stopped abruptly in his tracks, his fists clenched tightly.
"Actually, no. I don't," He muttered, turning around slowly. A few feet away in the distance, All Might came trucking down to the two young adults, an annoyed expression sitting on his face. You see, just before this, Izuku, Todoroki, and the other pro-heros had discussed a plan on how to defeat the simulated villain robot. It was an easy plan that was simply to test their compatibility as partners. Unfortunately, Todoroki thought it wouldn't work and decided to go his own route.
"What do you mean?" Todoroki asked, confusion lining his voice. His white and red hair blew in the cold, fall wind and his two-toned eyes shone with confusion and excitement. Izuku crossed his muscular arms and sighed. Not only was he annoyed, he was exhausted from these past two weeks. He had been doing this tournament with all of his friends, and this was finally his last one. Only two people really caught his eye and he worked really well with both of them. It just so happened that he liked both of these boys. Everyone else was waiting in the watching chamber, crossing their fingers that they would get to work with the new #1 hero.
"Todoroki!! You went completely against the plan!" He shouted back. Anger, an uncommon feeling that he experienced, lurked in his voice. He felt a rage bubble appear in his chest, but ignored it, "We had a drawn out plan that you agreed with!" Todoroki's expression changed from concern to anger in seconds. All-Might appeared behind the freckled greenette and placed a hand on his shoulder.
"It's alright, Young Midoriya," he assured. Izuku eased up slightly and sighed. With a solemn nod, he continued.
"Let's head back. I need to announce my two new partners," He ordered as he started walking away. The elder followed close behind the younger boy and Todoroki quickly trailed behind.
Once they reached the watching chamber, everyone faced the door. The three walked inside and headed towards a large podium that had a microphone stand sitting on it. The room was quite large, so they needed a microphone to make Izuku's soft voice louder. Todoroki quickly joined in the crowd as All-Might, along-side Aizawa, stood behind Izuku as he stood in front of the microphone. He quickly turned it on and smiled.
"Before I announce who my new partners are, I just wanted to say," He began as he looked out on his sea of friends. They all flashed excited smiles, which only made Izuku smile wider, "I'm very proud of all of you. Seriously. I've never seen you guys work harder than these past two weeks. You all were amazing, and I would be incredibly lucky to work with any of you, but I can only pick two." Everyone let out a tense breath and the room silenced. Izuku looked at the two retired heros, waiting for their cue to go on. They both nodded and smiled in response, allowing Izuku to face forward and announce his new co-heros.
"I'm going to say them one at a time, so don't worry," He resumed, "my first partner who will join me up here is... Katsuki Bakugou." The childhood friend and long-time rival of the new hero's eyes widened. His crimson, red pools shone with excitement that he struggled to contain. His red haired, best friend high-fived the angry pomeranian and started cheering. His sharp, toothy grin sparkled in the light and his eyes squeezed shut. Bakugou started beaming and pushed through the crowd.
"Move extras," He ordered, smirking. Izuku chuckled to himself and watched his friend struggle to get through the wave of people. A few others grew disappointed expressions as they figured they wouldn't get picked as the second partner. He quickly jogged onto the stage, his fluffy, ash-blonde hair bouncing with each move. He stood next to Izuku and flashed him a thankful smile. The shorter nodded and faced the front.
