The Hiccstrid Love Story

Chapter 1 - When it all began

Hiccup was always thought to be the child on Berk who wasn't good at anything, his father told him Everyday that he was a disappointment to the viking community. He had had a crush for his whole life, her name was Astrid Hofferson and she was the most beautiful woman on Berk in Hiccup's eyes. However Astrid thought the same about Hiccup as everyone else on the island, he was a no good for nothing. This opinion remained until the day Hiccup shot down a night fury but he didn't have the guts to kill it. If he did there would be no Hiccstrid today. Hiccup would be living a whole different life if he hadn't shot down toothless. Yes he named the dragon he was supposed to kill, but as Hiccup would say, they were 'best buds'. After Hiccup helped toothless fly again, it was them against the world.

This had to stay a secret though because his dad had the opposite opinion about dragons and then Astrid found out about Hiccups project. Astrid was sworn to secrecy until he found out a way to break the news to his dad that he helped a dragon and it now protected him constantly. This dragon and Hiccup soon enough saved the whole of Berk, and Hiccup's dad and the whole village warmed up to dragons and got their own as pets.

Astrid fell in Love with Hiccup that day for his bravery and Hiccup should have thought that Astrid was only taking him because he was brave and not because of who he was before, but that's okay because their future relied on what happened to them in these very moments. And to think that none of it would have happened if Hiccup hadn't have shot toothless down the night of the dragon fight. But of course that was the night that Astrid gained trust and affection for Hiccup and believed in him for every idea that sprouted to his mind.
