Percy Jackson, the other path

The Decision

Here we were standing in Olympus the home of the gods.
I was genuinely curious what would happen considering we saved the world, but destroyed half the city of New York, and Olympus is trashed. Luckily the gods were in a grateful mood, me Percy Jackson, my bestfriend Grover Underwood, and my close friend Annabeth Chase. I make eye contact with each god curious on what's in their minds-
 "Grover Underwood please step forward".
                I look nervously at my friend as he stands infront of the gods, my friend steps forward and kneels in front of Zeus.
"Grover Underwood blah blah blah you are now on the council of the trees or whatever" Dionysius says dismissively.
My friend Grover fainted on the spot, luckily there were some nymphs that got him and carried him out, not a bad way to wake up I thought.
"Annabeth Chase" says Artemis
 I suddenly get a tight feeling in my chest, and I suddenly lose the ability to speak at the thought of Annabeth joining the hunters and forever denying love and having eternal maiden hood.
"Annabeth-"
 I barely say but am cut off by the Artemis
"Annabeth Chase your bravery in battle has served you well, would you wish to join me and my hunters?, of course you have to accept the pledge and throw aside the likes of men, but you get immortality and you hunt down the monsters that harm the demigods"
I don't know what to say as I try and hide the fear and overwhelming sensation that Annabeth doesn't share the feelings I do and it is assured when she replies to Artemis
"It would be my pleasure, my lady"
And with six words, Annabeth has teared down everything I did in these past hours, I wished Kronos had won. I wished I could leave, or do anything other then stand helplessly watching her repeat the oath that destroys our bond.
                As I stood there stunned I hear faintly, as if I'm underwater, "Percy Jackson  please step forward"
"Yes sir" I say while taking a step forward not entirely sure of what's going on around me.
"Percy Jackson, we would like to grant you a gift, that we have not gifted in centuries"
"PERCY JACKSON" Zeus's voice boomed.
"WE WOULD LIKE TO GRANT YOU THE GIFT OF IMMORTALITY, YOU WILL BECOME A GOD AND SERVE BESIDE YOUR FATHER".
That statement knocked every other though out of my mind, even Annabeth, I looked at Zeus open mouthed and stumbled out the words,
"Me?, a god?, I mean I uh"
I thought of what I wanted before and was about to deny it when a thought hit me "those dreams were with Annabeth" and I nodded in understanding as my heart chose for me.
