The world is gone, and so is hope and light. Darkness devoured the planet, as the sun slowly perished right in front of our eyes. A wasteland, that was all Lupa could see. Blood red was painted all over the sky, screams echoed through the land. Lupa scratched her fur, as the poor wolf gazed upon the chaos that inhabited the dark world.
All she could see was misery, she didn't know what to do. She could hear the faint screaming of the people getting ready to leave the harsh world, and escape to a new world. Lupa howled at the blinding sun, as she slowly crawled to the humans. What were they doing? A metallic white cylinder with two pitch black wings towered above her, pulling Lupa towards the darkness. The winds copied her longing howls and dust chased after the winds, as if a hurricane was slowly perishing by the horizon. Men in white suits walked towards a door laughing and emptying their bottles of beer. Children ran after the wolf trying to pet her rough, ash-grey fur. Strange metal beings held the children back with their robot claws, as the children's parents scolded them. All of this reminded Lupa of her pack, her home, her friends, her family-- everything she didn't have. To a wolf, their pack was like water and food, an essential you can't live without. But all of that was gone.
Lupa slowly crawled towards the skyscraper-like ship, slowly pushing the door open with her paw.
"What is this thing doing here?" A low, shaky voice snapped as he turned his wrinkled face towards the wolf. Lupa felt a shock trickle down her spine, her eyes were opened wide. As she froze, the man took his gruesome troll-like hand and put it on her fur.
"Guards!" his voice echoed around the room, plastering the walls with the harsh noise "Get this vermin!" Lupa's fur stood up on it's ends as she sprinted quickly towards the metal door. Her heart raced along with her and goosebumps devoured her paws, as vicious guards took their guns shooting thousands of bullets at the runaway wolf.
30 minutes later, the guards were drowned in sweat, slowly limping towards the tired wolf. Lupa looked behind her and saw the guards had stopped, she pounced forward leaving no witnesses in sight. The arctic wolf ran away from the men and slowly crept into the vent.
"Did you hear what happened?" a woman gossiped to another woman "Rumor has it that there is a wolf on the ship, then ate the guards"
"I can't believe it!" The other woman exclaimed, stomping her red stilettos on the metal floor, as she pulled down her sunglasses piercing Lupa with her gaze. "Pest control!" She pointed at the vent Lupa cautiously hid in, her face red with anger. Lupa ran away, howling for her pack to come back.
Suddenly, Lupa was safe, yet she took caution as she approached the woman, listening to her complaints as if she understood her.
"You were too slow!" The woman in red heels yelled at the guards, throwing things out of her velvet purse. "You let the vermin run away!"
"Mam, the time we came she was gone." An exterminator mumbled quietly, looking at his shiny, yellow rain boots. He put down his military green tranquilizer and then ran away.
Lupa laughed as she ran to the north, towards the iron door, a portal to a new world.
Excited, Lupa pushed the iron door open with her paw and gazed at the insides of the ship, slowly crawling towards the damp vent. She had made it, all her struggles, the literal blood, sweat and tears she put into this earnt her this. Every single sacrifice was a stepping stone, a new problem to solve. Was it worth it? Lupa didn't know, but all she knew was that she made it. Her titanium-white fur hit the grey metal as she closed her eyes envisioning what she would see in the new world.
The engines roared, ash-grey smoke dispersed from the silver tubes that were attached like barnacles to an abandoned ship. Trees danced aggressively, taunting the ship to fly further away. Dust flew along with the ship, like it was chasing the ship desperate for its meat. The blood red sky flashed in the distance sending a signal that all was safe and soon they would make it to the new world.
