I have no idea what I'm doing. I'm here sitting at the bus station, waiting to go to an exam that I don't even want to take.

My quirk isn't strong enough to pass. I know it, my siblings know it, yet here I am. Waiting for my inevitable failure. Wasting precious time I could've spent working, or sleeping, hell even studying would be better than this.

"S/n owes my big time for this.." I mumble to myself, sighing deeply. She's the reason I'm here after all.

"C'mon y/nnnn! You can't work at the gas station forever!" My sister says, as my brother nods enthusiastically behind her.

"B/n, stop nodding your head so fast you're going to give yourself whiplash. S/n, yes I can. Working at minimum wage is a much better financial plan than going to an expensive school for years with no income in return." I say with a melancholy tone. "Besides, how am I going to win against a bunch of robots with my quirk. Smoke does not help in that situation."

"What are you? Chicken?" She responds mockingly.

So here I am.

After what felt like hours of waiting, the bus finally pulls up. I step in, hoping to get a seat, only to watch someone take it right in front of my eyes. The audacity. I stare at the angry looking blonde, realizing that I'll have to stand in front of people. Suddenly I become acutely aware of my posture, trying to stand as straight as I can without looking constipated at the same time.

I uncomfortably pull out my headphones, trying my best not to touch anyone while I do. Plugging them into my phone, I go onto Spotify and start a playlist. When I press play and I don't hear anything, I turn the volume up. Still not hearing it very well, I look down at my phone, only to see my headphones aren't plugged in all the way...

Oh god. Oh no. Please don't tell me this is real. I look up to see a few people glancing over, confusion glazed in their eyes, others are just trying to avoid as much eye contact as they can. A certain pair of red eyes catches my eye though. Right across from me, in the seat I could've had, he's there. Staring at me with judgement prominent in his eyes. I stare right back. Gotta assert dominance right? Wrong. His gaze gets harsher by the second, to which I do the same. Eventually, we're having a full on staring contest.

"Got a problem?" I ask, not enjoying the glare he's giving me. I mean c'mon man, first, you steal my spot and then you stare at me, looking like you're about to explode. That's just disrespectful.

He doesn't respond. Just makes a weird grunt noise and looks away, as he should. That's a win in my book.

The bus finally stops at UA after a few more uncomfortable minutes. I scrapped the music idea after the headphone incident. As I walk to the doors of the bus I see the spiky haired brat following behind me. Oh great, this is wonderful.

We walk off the bus, practically running towards the school doors, neither of us wanting to lose the unofficial race as we bump each other's shoulders trying to knock them over. We end up tying and start fighting over who goes in the gate first. No words have been spoken throughout, just pushing and grabbing, trying to get ahold of the handle. That doesn't last long though.

"Give me the damn handle dumbass!" He says as he tries to push me away from the door.

"Like hell, brat," I say, smoke starting to come out of my mouth. This guy is pissing me off. I can let taking the seat slide, but he's been nothing but a dick since and I'm getting sick of it.

He didn't enjoy being called a brat(even though he is one). He steps away from the door, sparks coming from his palm. Oh, so he was about to explode, ok dope. Not wanting to give up I sigh, stepping away as a big cloud of smoke surrounds us. I decide to go the defensive route instead of the offensive. He steps back holding his right arm straight out, letting off an explosion. I stand there, hoping the smoke from his explosion mixed with the smoke I'm producing will be enough to cover me slipping into the gate. I let out another big sigh just for safe measure and quickly slip through the entrance gate.

Running through the gate I go over to the crowd of people that are now staring at the angry boy. I head to the back of the crowd hoping to be shielded by the people, before bumping into someone behind me.

"Oh god, sorry I wasn't paying attention," I say quickly turning around, seeing a very pink individual in front of me. She looks so cool oh my god.

"Haha it's all good! Are you okay though? You've got smoke coming out of your mouth." She asks. She's cool AND she's nice? Maybe this wasn't a mistake after all.

"Oh yeah! That's just my quirk. The stronger the emotion, the more smoke I produce. It's kinda lame honestly." I say dissmissively.

I don't really like talking about my quirk, there's not much I can say about it. The only thing I like about it is the fire resistance part, but that's about it. I mean it's not flashy, and I can't even use it that often without getting lightheaded. I have to be numb all the time so I don't pass out, what kind of quirk is that?

"That's so cool! I bet you can escape from villains so easily! You could just go fwooh and then you could run away!" She says excitedly, blowing in the middle of her sentence to give me a demonstration, "You sound a lot like a friend of mine, he doesn't like his quick much either. I should introduce you two!"

Before I got the chance to answer, I see a banana looking guy step out of the doors, followed by a... mouse?
