Deep in a forest that many have walked through before. There was a man, older than the world he came from and yet younger than the folk who have entered this forest. He walked past the trees and the fallen leaves of the old. Observing the nature around him, just like many others once did. There were many wonders to witness, many pieces that a mind could ponder, and many questions that a simple Human could ask; and yet, the wandering Man did none.
He looked up at the clouded sky up above with no sun to shine on. For a moment, He felt a wave of sadness flowing through his heart... but soon after, it was followed by a cold peace that He's never felt before. He looked down and saw the soil, the foundation that held the untold history of this great forest. Then He looked forward, through the fog, through the dark oaks and the branches beyond. He saw nothing, and yet infinite. Only a god would know what lies beyond the fog, what mysteries and what unheard Questions that are waiting in an eternal second to be answered.
There were footsteps all around the forest of Men and Women who once walked through this path just like He did. Some seemed to have walked back to the world they knew since birth. Perhaps out of fear of the unknown, sentiment or a human emotion that only they could understand. And yet, some seemed to have walked into the unknown, beyond the fog.
Perhaps wondering what lies within. Only a few can imagine what they might have faced or discovered within the fog.
He took a few steps forward until He was at the center of the forest, the fabricated line where the known and the unknown meet.
He stood there circling around Himself, watching the world around, hearing it and feeling it. As much as He felt the contentment, the ease of which he could sense of what He was so familiar with since he was a child, He felt the uneaseing yet fascinating ponderous silence beyond the fog.
It continued on for a long time before He stopped and sat down on an old fallen piece of tree near him. He took a deep breathe and let the cold air enter His lungs. It calmed him down. He let the silence of the forest surround his whole being.
The man turned his head around, even though He was at the center of what seemed to be...everything. He saw nothing. there were no living beings, nothing was moving, and yet...He felt like there was somebody looking at him. But Soon after, He stopped thinking, and slowly closed his eyes...until he heard a voice.
'Are you perhaps lost?' Asked an unknown voice. a voice that could not be traced nor to be identified, almost as if it belonged to the forest itself.
He looked up, expecting to see someone Infront of him but there was none. Yet, he showed no worries.
'I am not lost.' said the middle-aged man.
The silence continued on for a short while,
'Then perhaps are you looking for something to question or an answer to be heard?' asked the voice, once again.
'I am not looking for a question nor an answer.' he said.
The voice spoke no further.
The man held his head down for a short while. He noticed a freshly fallen leaf on his shoe...He picked it up and inspected it.
'I just want peace.' confessed the middle-aged man.
A cold breeze danced through the forest, that sent the leaf flying into the depths of the fog.
'The eternal peace is for the afterlife; This is not your afterlife.' Claimed the ambiguous voice.
He smiled...a rather sad smile.
'It doesn't have to be for long, just a little while.' The man begged.
The forest continued with it's silence. The wind made the trees hum and the leaves whistle, and once it stopped, the forest spoke once again.
'Only for a little while.'
The man felt an inner sense of relief, and then as the exhaustion of his journey started to devour him, He sighed and laid down on the fallen tree.
He then closed his eyes, and took a short nap.
