Celeste pulled on her white helmet and stepped onto The Skeld. Recently, there had been a surge of" imposters" and they had wiped out the whole crew on The Skeld. So, she was appointed as one of the crew members, along with 11 others. Each of them had different colored suits, showing their ranks. The highest rank was black and the lowest was purple. But each of them had tasks that appeared on their tablets given to them. Some were collective tasks, and some were separate.
Celeste was met by the Captain. She saluted him and he saluted back.
"Captain Silas has everyone boarded?" Celeste asked.
"Affirmative, Officer Celeste." Captain Silas nodded.
Celeste walked along with Captain Silas.
"How long has it been, Celeste?" He asked.
"Too long, Silas, or should I say Captain?" She asked him.
He laughed and she laughed too. They made it into the cafeteria/common areas, and they stood side by side.
"Form rank!" Captain Silas ordered.
They shuffled into position and Captain Silas gave them instructions.
"You will not take off your helmet until we have confirmed that the launch has finished. Once the launch has been confirmed, you may take off your helmets. You have tablets given to you to show you what tasks have been assigned to you. And if you pull out those tablets now, on the bottom right corner of your screens you will see a report button. Only call that buttons when you see... a body. Stay strong, we do not know if there is an imposter within our midst's, but we must stay vigilant. And over there in the middle of the table is another report button. Report any suspicious activity you may see. But during a crisis, the button will be shut off to convert power to the troubled areas." Captain informed them.
"This is your commanding officer, Celeste. If anything is wrong with me, she will be your go to person. And your suits are color coded. I will call out your names, colors, rank, and rooms. If you do not like where your room is or if you do not like who is your partner... suck it up, nobody cares." There was a slight snicker, and the ship took off.
Everyone held ranks as their names were called.
"Celeste, White, 1st officer, cabin 1. Phoenix, Red, 2nd officer, Cabin 1. James, Orange, Bosun, Cabin 2. Elijah, Yellow, Chief Engineer, Cabin 2. Oliver, Lime, 2nd Engineer, Cabin 3. Serenity, Green, Cook, Cabin 3. Leah, Cyan, Cook assistant, Cabin 4. Jackson, Blue, Medic, Cabin 4. Jasmine, Purple, Help, Cabin 5. Colton, Brown, Help 2, Cabin 5."
Celeste looked at Captain Silas and nodded.
"We've received word that you may take off your helmets. Put them in your cabins and go to work with your cabin partners. You are dismissed until further notice." She announced.
Celeste took off her helmet and the rest followed her. Her white hair laid in curls around her shoulders. Her golden eyes complimented her mocha colored skin. Captain Silas took off his helmet too and smiled at her.
"Get to work, officer." He said.
"Will do, Captain." She responded and left to go to her Cabin.
When she walked in, she saw her cabin partner, sitting in his bed, looking down at his tablet. He has charcoal colored hair and a noticeably light complexion. A scar ran down his left eye and he looked up at her with glowing green eyes.
"You must be, Celeste? You ready to do tasks?" He asked.
She nodded and set her helmet on her bed.
