Prologue
Kyoko Kirigiri checked her list. She checked it again. Checked it a third time. It looked as if everything was in order.
You wouldn't really be able to blame her for her nervousness... or would it be caution? The last time she stood here, in front of Hope's Peak Academy, she had been thrown into a ruthless game of life-and-death.
The day before, she had looked at all the data, and the experimental period should go perfectly as planned.
Though there was always that minuscule chance that something could go terribly wrong... she preferred not to think about that.
She and sixteen new students would stay inside Hope's Peak for a month to make sure the students could survive the quarantine without any outside interference.
She... had her doubts about this plan, but she also had faith in Makoto, which outweighed her doubts.
She took a step inside the school doors, expecting something to happen. Expecting her world to crumble again.
Nothing happened.
"Well, that was anticlimactic," she said to herself. "And a relief. Time to start setting up, I suppose."
And off she went.
