The Winter Queen

  The concrete under my shoes clacked again and again as I walked. Stopping at the entrance of the bridge, I look over at my best friend. Our breaths were hard as we have come a long way for this moment. Since we've been born this was our destiny, a destiny we have claimed. I look down our swords laying in our hands. I grasp my sword tightly and I grab my friend's hand, I smiled at her. We looked behind us to see all our friends we have made these past couple of months. All standing their ready to fight the Winter Queen.

   Her rain over the world and its deep slumber must come to a stop and wake Summer King who lays in the heart of her castle. Summer King and the Winter Queen has lived in harmony since the beginning of time. The Winter Queen would lay the Earth to rest for winter and when Summer King was supposed to awake to wake the Earth with her, she never did and for thousands of years The Queen of Winter has ruled the earth and Thought of the Sumer King has been forgotten. Now we would wake her, and Summer shall begin again.

    My girlfriend had come up to me and hugged me tightly while my best friend Alexandrea's Boyfriend did the same. They were to fend off the guards as We were to go and fight. I kissed away my girlfriend's tears and looked towards Alexandrea, she nodded, and he started off down the bridge.

    Ice broke beneath our feet, the castle looming above us it was marvelous but dark from stories it was always the center of happiness but now it felt sad. The doors of the castle were a dark spruce wood with drops of sun flowing through the cracks with ice shards flowing through as well. We pushed on the door with all our force since it was partly frozen and once the door opened, we were blowen a back. Catching a glimpse of the sight behind us, our friends were fighting off her guard's, blood stained the snow already.

     Groaning I slowly sat up following me was Alexandrea. The Winter Queen in her long Navy Faded to White dress her cloak following behind her snow and ice shards lay at her feet. That wicked look strikes her already Icey face. Her Bright blue eyes staring down at us in hatred but also in sadness like she didn't mean to hurt us. Her laugh filled the Icey air. I reached for my sword, but it shot up into the air with a gush of cold wind. The Winter Queen was beatable, but no one had beaten her ever before and many have tried. I picked up an ice shard and threw it her way It sliced a long cut into her cheek just enough to draw blood. With her cold finger she wiped away the blood and licked it off her finger.

"Aww that was cute you drew blood."  She stepped forward.

Alexandrea threw one of her potions at the Queens feet. It exploded leaving a cloud of smoke Infront of The Queen. We threw ourselves at her pushing her back in the castle. The door shut behind them in a loud thud. The Queen Flung them back slamming them into a wall.

"I am Queen Neve; Ruler of Winter I will not be beaten!" Her voice boomed throughout the huge front room.

"And I'm Princess Ada, Protector of the Unknown"

"While I am Princess Alexandrea, the Holder of Knowledge"

At the same time, we took the swords out of both the knights who stood beside the doors. Magic flowed through us, and we surged forward. The tips of our rusty blades dove into her snow skin as she dropped to the floor. Tears fell from her eyes and shatter as they touched the ground.

"Free at last, thank you Ada, thank you Alexandrea for taking her out of my body" she bowed her head and we slowly see her life force drain from her cold body. I wanted to feel happy and relieved that we have stopped winter, but I couldn't help but feel sad her. I quickly wiped away my tears and Alexandrea did the same, we embraced in a tight hug and stayed there for a while then decided to open the double doors and tell our team we won.

The Winter Queens guards lay on the ground lifeless and red stained the snow. I See my girlfriend Harper ran towards me while Alexandrea's boyfriend Sebastion ran towards her. They were both stained red, but we didn't care. My girlfriend hugged me tightly and spun me around while Sebastion kissed Alexandra. All four of us made our way Back to the group to rejoice. Suddenly A bright glow and a warm welcoming light came from behind us and as we turned around there was the Summer King in all his glory.

"I thank you for freeing me from my long slumber I am Cain, King of Summer"

We all bowed our heads at him as his light radiated flowing off him and melting away the snow. Flowers and grass grew between the cracks of the stone bridge as he walked more snow and ice melting away.

"Who was the one who defeated Neve and Freed me?" he looked at all the men in our group.

We stepped forward and curtsied. He looked almost shocked but at the same time thankful. He bowed his head at us and formed 2 flower crowns in his hands and placed them upon our heads.

"Tell me your names younglings?"

"I am Princess Ada, Protector of the Unknown"

"And I am Princess Alexandrea, Holder of Knowledge"

"Well Princess Ada and Princess Alexandrea Thank you for freeing me-" he continued

"I must go wake The Earth now from its frozen slumber and find the next Winter Queen. Farewell, if you ever need anything you may come to me."

And like that with a bright flash he was gone. Waking up the world. Now it's our time to sleep, it has been a rough few month.
