It felt as though my heart had dropped in my chest. My breathing grew heavy as the crisp October air stung my lungs. I stood, frozen in fear and complete utter shock at the bloody sight in front of me. A dark figure loomed over two blood-soaked corpses. I couldn't even manage to get something of a word out despite the thoughts racing through my mind. All I could see at the moment was their eyes, they glowed a dark amber-y crimson.
I woke up, it all just seemed like a horrible nightmare.
"Thank god... I'm glad that was just a dream... A stupid nightmare.." I said quietly to myself. Then, it hit me. I jolted up and looked around. Where was I? This wasn't my room, it wasn't even my house!
"Oh, I thought you'd never wake up!" Called a voice from the hall. "I was really worried, considering everyone knows I was the last in the school along with you. I don't know what I would do if you hadn't woken up again!"
What? School? Who was this?
Seemingly, the same guy I had seen earlier that night poked his head around the doorframe and looked at me from the hall. "Hey, you're Morgan, right? Does your head hurt? You hit the ground pretty hard after fainting back there."
"Choi?!" My voice cracked. I was shocked at the sight of him. Was he really the one who had killed those people back there? "W-what am I doing here?!" I stammered. Choi then explained how I had fainted at the sight of the corpses and how he had taken me to a safer place to rest. I looked at the time. It was 2:14 am. It looks like I had a rather pleasant nap between then and now.
"Well, it's fall break, so I guess I don't have to worry about you telling anybody about this," Choi explained.
"Wait a second! Did you really kill those two?! Why did you do it?" I hastily interrupted
"Why?" He snickered. "What do you mean? She wasn't dead- well, the other guy was, but that wasn't me." Choi said, the corners of his mouth curling up into a wide grin. The room was dim; but I could clearly see his smile. His teeth and lower lip seemed to be stained with what one could hope to be strawberry jam, but it would most likely be blood, considering the context of the situation I'm in.
"I figured someone would find out at some point," He sighed as he sat down next to me.
Choi bared his teeth and jokingly snarled.
"I'm a vampire! Couldn't you guess? Like, whose teeth are this sharp?" He exclaimed as he turned to me and smiled. "Multiple people even pointed it out the first day I transferred."
"That did always seem a bit odd." I sighed. "But I guess I'll try to keep this a secret. I suppose you'll try to hunt me down if I don't, I guess."
Choi interrupted. "Oh, of course. I was planning on making sure you would never, and i mean never tell anybody. Also, you're right about the whole hunting you down bit, although it'd be such a shame, to have to do that, right? I wouldn't like it."
I sat, gazing at him in slight confusion but understanding why the whole being killed thing would be a bummer, but why would it be for him?
