A Hardworking Construction Worker

Jake is a construction worker in Cebu City and has a family living in the town of Ronda. Jane, the name of her wife, has two sons, Jay-R and Jake, and one daughter Mary Jane. If you build a family, you have a big responsibility to sustain everyday needs. Jake will go to Cebu to work at JK Company Inc. His job there is a lead man to manage other workers of what to do in that particular area. His boss trusts him because of his upraising performance and can handle different situations.

One day tragedy comes. We cannot prevent what happens in the future. Corona Virus Disease (Covid 19) exists here in our country Philippines. This kind of pandemic is very harmful to individuals. The President stated that he must stop all business and jobs here in our country to prevent the spreading of Corona Virus Disease. JK Company Inc. has no choice to follow what the President said. Jake, this time has no job in Cebu because of all establishment lockdown. Sad to say, he feels down and disappointed because he has a family to support the basic needs in everyday life. Jake never gives up. He finds another way on how to get money despite the pandemic. He does online selling like T-shirts, skirts, plants, etc. to get money to send to his family living in the province of Ronda. I consider Jake as a responsible father with his two sons and one daughter. Even if he is tired already, he made his decision to continue and pursue what he aims in his life. Jake stays at a boarding house in Cebu because he cannot go home due to this pandemic; one thing he is doing there is to continue his small business to support his own needs and also his family. After five months, Jake call his boss to go back a JK Company Inc. to operate again and manage the people there to create something suited to their job. Jake will go outside and inside the company to canvas materials needed for the company establishment. Because Jake is a lead man in that company, he brought many contribution and impact to manage and help to stand the establishment quickly. When the time comes, Jake got sick. He feels tired and cannot go to work because of a fever. His boss told him to relax and take medicine so that he become okay, but his not fine for almost one week and felt so much tired. His boss told him to go to the nearest hospital to consult his symptoms bringing. The doctor said that Jake needs to admit because his temperature is very high.

After consultation and the PCR test, the doctors said that Jake was infected by Corona Virus Disease (Covid 19). The boss feels guilty about the situation. He trusted so much about Jake because of his exemplary performance. The family of Jake feels sad and down about what happened to their loving and responsible father. He was admitted to Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center (VSMMC). He wants himself to stay strong, survive, and fight Corona Virus Disease.

"All I can say about Jake never give up, continue your dreams, and fight," said his boss.

The doctors brought Jake to the operating room. The family of Jake prays on that night that he will be successful in the operating room.
Early in the morning, the doctor said to the boss of Jake and his family that he didn't survive during the operation and sad to say he died due to Covid 19. The family Jake suddenly cry because they cannot accept Jake's situation.
"Why you leave us? Did you know how much I love you? You are a great and responsible father of our three siblings." Jane cries and cries.

One thing she could analyze is to remember the good memories that Jake had to his family.
