~3~ Disconnected from the world

Start from the beginning

"Eli Shane is Will Shane's son," I said aloud, making Flame look at me with a confused expression, "The boy I slammed into at the Mall. Also the same one I had helped out in the cave."

The orange slug's eyes went wide like the round surface below a giant mushroom.

"No wonder he had the logo. Why didn't I see it before?" I chastised myself as I slapped a palm to my forehead. "His blaster, too. But what still confuses me is the fact that he's not the only one with the logo. That red head, the cave troll and molenoid had it too."

"Maybe they're a team," guessed Flame.

"Yeah, you do have a point," I nodded slightly. "Either way..." my fingers moved across the keyboard, typing in "Eli Shane" after exiting the site and returning to the home page.

He and his father basically shared the same traits, and I didn't just mean looks and personality. Fame was among the many that stood out, because from what I could tell, everyone in Slugterra knew who he was. Well, not technically everyone...

Eli started out in Slugterra by duelling people, and earning new slugs from wining those duels. However, when he lost the final match due to a ghoul, he then realised the exsistence of these slugs, and confidence was somewhat shaken. But he didn't stop there. He went on to helping many people in Slugterra, travelling to all kinds of caverns and meeting different people, all the while getting help, support and accompany from his team.

Flame was right. The girl, Trixie Sting, the cave troll, Kord Zane, and the molenoid, Pronto Geronimole, had been added by him to the permanent team called the "Shane Gang". They stuck together through everything, and although different, had relied on one another, and in a sense, needed each other. The four of them were almost always seen as a group, other than the times when they split up to chase something down, or for teamwork.

Trixie even uploaded videos on the Slugnet about helpful info for your slugs, and even did one about blasters. I could tell she brought a camera with her everywhere she went, and at any possible moment, viewed whatever she could.

Kord, being a cave troll, was the mechanic, fixing an upgrading their mechas whenever needed. He was also good at planning out strategies, and telling if people were lying; his suspicions were almost never wrong.

Pronto was a pretty vain molenoid, but nonetheless, had his victory moments, and served as a great tracker, as well as was the first friend of Eli after he had arrived at Slugterra.

Eli had even trained with the Unbeatable Master, Shinai, who wasn't in Slugterra anymore. Wow. That must have been incredible. He even discovered that slugs had the ability to megamorph by using an amplifier to increase the speed of your slug fired from the barrel.

"Whoa," I said, when I read the news, "I never tried that before. It's probably why his slugs would look different from mine."

I didn't know how long I looked at my computer screen, reading and learning new things about the new famous Shane. My Bubbaleone was probably playing with bubbles again, as I saw some float past me out of the corner of my eye. Some even playfully jumped onto my head or shoulders when I was focused on the article or new information I had found about Eli, knowing I wouldn't have minded.

Blinking a few times, I gazed back towards Flame. "So, we know a lot about Eli now," I stated the obvious while helping Polo (my Polero) down from my head, "and his teammates. How that's going to help, I don't really know. Unless we bump into them again, which we most likely won't."

"I think we might," said Flame, contradicting my statement.

"Why?"

"Think about it. You saved Trixie and Eli, Terra."

"Correction: helped them."

The Infurnus just rolled his eyes. "Yeah. But in actual fact, they might still be wondering who you are, and why you did that for them."

"Why would they do that? I'm just an ordinary girl, living a normal life in Slugterra. No big deal," I stated, knowing full-well I was lying to myself. "Ordinary" didn't even come to mind when knowing my secret, which I kept for many years.

"They may want to thank you. You never know, Terra."

"What are you trying to say, Flame?" The answer to this question was already in my head. He didn't even need to say it.

"I mean, they may be looking out for you."

Major apologies to those who have been waiting so long! I got caught up with life, not that that's a bad thing. And about the megamorphing and the amplifier... I didn't know if it's really called an "amplifier" or not. ;)
