Terralynn's POV:
When I was back in my cavern, I pulled my bag off and opened it, allowing my slugs to jump out and back on the grass. Only Flame stayed on my shoulder while the rest resumed their playing time.
"Is it me, or does it seem like we get into trouble wherever we go?" I asked him as I walked over to the waterfall. One of my favourite places to just sit, talk and relax, while listening to the soothing sound of water rushing down and into a stream. "And who was that boy?"
"What boy?"
"Midnight blue hair, blue eyes, with the red head girl? I met him twice today, which makes it kind of hard to tell if it's a coincidence or not," I explained. "And that logo...the star with the letter "S" on it? It looks familiar, but I can't tell what it really is, or what it stands for."
I sat down onto the soft grass, and watched as the Infurnus hopped off my shoulder to stand on a rock nearby.
"Well, you could always do a little research," suggested Flame. "There's bound to be something on the Slugnet."
"Hmm...perhaps you're right," I used telekinetic powers to make my laptop float towards me, pushing it open and logging onto my account. "Hopefully we can find some useful info about the subject."
Opening it, my index finger pressed on the button to turn it on, light instantly shining from the laptop as there was a soft whirring sound emitted. I didn't have to wait long before it went to the home page, and I was able to key in my search.
What should I type in...I thought. Obviously, I couldn't search for something as weird as "a star with the letter "S" on it", or "boy with blue hair and blue eyes". That was crazy, and the results were probably going to lead me to a path of confusion. There were a zillion boys living in Slugterra, and there was no way I was going to find one that easy.
An idea suddenly came to mind. I remembered Will Shane, the courageous protector of Slugterra, famous for stopping evil villains and putting an end to Dr Blakk, once and for all. He was admired by many, and was all over the Slugnet right after the previous Shane had retired. He even owned an Infurnus, like I did. But then, when Dr Blakk had successfully managed to create dark, contaminated slugs called "ghouls", his first test subject was none other than the famous Shane himself. He fired the ghoul straight at him, not knowing for sure what would come of it. There was a hazy red and black swirl, and in a flash, Will was gone. No one ever knew what happened to him. He just...disappeared.
Instinctively, I typed in "Will Shane" in the search bar, receiving results almost instantly. My eyes danced across the screen as I scanned the various news coverages, fan sites and many other types of Web pages until something caught my attention.
The writing was miniscule, but legible, and I couldn't take my gaze off the word "son", before a trail of dots lined the place where there should have been words. I moved the little white arrow towards the site and clicked on it, the page loading quickly and opening the full article.
I skimmed over the heroic things that were said about Will Shane, searching for that one specific word. When I found it, my heart skipped a beat.
His son's name was Eli Shane.
A memory played in my mind, when not to long ago, the guy who wanted my Infurnus had said, "It seems like you have Eli Shane's Infurnus." The image of that same boy appeared in my head, and I gasped.
He was Will Shane's son?
The guy I had helped in the cave, and the teenage boy who I had crashed into in the Mall...it all made sense now. Why he had the logo with the star and letter "S". Why he had another ultra rare Infurnus. Why he had the type of blaster that only had been used by Will Shane.
