Disclaimer - I don't own any of these characters, the One Chicago franchise does. I do, however, own the plot as I wrote it myself.
Hailey's POV:
I'm halfway through my flight home, and I feel an uninvited hand on my knee. I look over at the guy sitting next to me on the plane, then my eyes wander down the his hand on my knee.
"Excuse me," I say to him, annoyed and offended. "Why the hell is your hand on my knee?"
"You don't like that princess?" He smirks at me. "Why not?"
"I have a boyfriend," I say instantly, trying not to let the grimace on my face show. Why did I say that? Especially when I asked Vanessa to pick me up at the airport, which would totally blow my cover. But I can't help but feel relieved when the guy removes his hand from my knee.
"Oh, I see. Well, you'll have to prove to me that you have a boyfriend when we get to O'Hare."
Shit.
Jay's POV:
"Hey, Halstead, I need you to do me a favour." Rojas sits on the edge of my desk in front of me.
"What is it?" I ask, already exhausted. I just want to go home and sleep.
"Can you pick up Upton at the airport for me? Something just came up." As soon as Rojas mentioned Hailey I felt full of electricity, suddenly not tired anymore. I try not to look to excited about the prospect of picking Hailey up from the airport, being the first one to welcome her home from New York
"Yeah, sure, I can do that," I agree. "What time and gate?"
"7:45, gate A12. But don't be late, you know how impatient Upton is."
"Yep," I say as I write the information down. "See you tomorrow," I add, leaving so I can get to the airport.
Hope y'all enjoyed the first chapter of my new fanfic. I'll be updating it every Wednesday in hopes of helping fill the void until One Chicago returns in January.
