Some nights
I feel the yearning leaving its marks
Etching its name across my eyelids
The tar in my fingertips craves the impossible
Shards of broken realities twisting in my ribs
Some nights
Even my shadows betray me
Leave me wandering a mirage
Hold the mirror tight, they sing, don't let it fall
Don't let it break
Hold the mirror tight, they sing, it won't be worth it
When your soul escapes
Like two stars pulled away at birth,
My arms reach out, grasping for strings
The end seems far and oh so lonely
Will it worth it when my soul finally escapes?
