Draco's Secret

Hi, my name is Madeline Snape, most people just call me Maddy though. Let me tell you a bit about myself, I'm going into my 6th year at Hogwarts. I'm in Slytherin, I'm a half-blood and yes my father is Severus Snape as for my mother... she died when I was in 3ed year. There was a freak accident at St Mugos where she worked as a healer. It was a wizarding gang, targeted terrorist attack. So anyways its just me and my dad now, I miss my mother terribly not a day goes by that I don't think about her.

I've been reckless ever since she's been gone, drinking through the pain, starting fights, not caring about school, and throwing myself at any boy I can. I wish I could say any of it makes me feel better.

I'm friends with Ginny Weasley and Annabelle Black, the daughter of Serius Black, we all call her Anni. We have all been friends for as long as I can remember, I mean how could we not be, we are all the same age and all our fathers are in the order, although its a bit more of a complicated situation with my dad being in the order and having ties to the dark forces but we will get to that later.

"Madeline! It's time to leave, you're going to be late for the train!" My father yelled from downstairs, interrupting my thoughts. "Coming" I yelled back. I quickly zipped up my trunk and put my sleepy cat into his cage; his name is Merlin and was black, white and orange with long hair; my mother got him for me before she died. I cast a quick spell to send all my things downstairs and took one last look in the mirror before leaving my room. I look like my mother, long blonde hair with a slight wave, blue eyes, short and slim. I hated that a saw her every time I looked in the mirror, it reminds me that I can't escape the pain.

I ran down the stairs where father was waiting for me. "Now Madeline please can you try and behave this year." He said sternly while rolling his eyes. I made myself a mental note to be extra sneaky this year with my mischief. "Yes dad. I actually really think this is going to be a good year for me." I smiled. "Thats my girl!" He beamed and walked out the door. I let out a chuckle and a sigh "Your too good of a liar." I whispered to myself while waving my wand to levitate a bottle of fire whiskey into my trunk and followed him out the door.

It was crowded on the train, luckily I found Anni and Ginny. We found a compartment and sat down as the train started moving.

"So how was your summer Ginny?" Anni asked. "Oh my god, you won't believe who wrote to me! Dean! He is soooo hot, I can't believe he would even write to me of all people." Ginny giggled. Ok it was time for boy talk I guess. I laughed to myself, our favourite thing to talk about. "I was thinking of trying to go for Blaise or Cormac" Anni blushed. She's had a crush on Blaise for as long as I can remember.

As for me, I don't know who I really liked. I've never truly felt a connection to many of the boys I have been with, as sad as that is to say. I was with Theo for most of the last year but that just didn't work out, it was my fault really. I'm a bit much to handle so I can't blame him.

"Maddy, what about you?" Anni questioned before continuing. "Wait! Don't tell me I want to guess... Draco? Then we can basically be sisters, it would be kinda weird, you dating my cousin and all, but I'd be totally fine with it! Plus he has got the biggest crush on you, anybody with eyes can see it!" I thought about it for a minute, the girls have been bugging me that Draco has a crush on me for a while now, they said he was all jealous when I was dating Theo. None of that matters though he's way out of my league, the most popular boy in school and the biggest reason of all my Dad would kill me.

"No come on Anni it's Fred she's going for, you should've seen them cuddling up at my house when Maddy came over for dinner last week." Ginny exclaimed. I laughed at this, me and Fred are really close but more like a brother. He's helped me through a lot of stuff but I think he might like me for more than that.

"Oh my! No I have the perfect guy!! Adrian Pucey!" Anni all but screamed. "He would be perfect, you and him quiddich couple goals. You both are so amazing at quiddich the chemistry is already there with you two, watching you guys play it's like you know what each other are thinking.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention, I'm a chaser for the slytherin team. I am pretty good, got most improved award last season and I think I would've gotten most valuable if it weren't for that damn Pucey. He's very attractive, I mean who doesn't like an athletic boy? But he can be a little too much at times.

Before I could answer any of their assumptions our compartment door flew open. It was Draco Malfoy... which was weird although me and Anni are in the same house as him, he never talked to us much. He has changed since last year, he resembles a puppy that had been kicked too many times. He was more slim, he looked exhausted and had his head down not looking at any of us. I couldn't help but stare and feel bad for him, I assumed his father was the one at fault, I never did like him.

"Umm sorry, can I steal Maddy from you guys for just a minute?" he said awkwardly, interrupting my thoughts, I quickly looked away, unaware at how long I'd been staring. The girls noticed and laughed. "Steal away Malfoy." Anni stated. I shot her a look all of a sudden feeling nervous, we had never spoken one on one before. I got up and followed him out the door down the hallway.

"How was your summer?" he asked, clearly wanting to make small talk before asking what he really wanted to know. "It was okay, how was yours?" I politely asked back. "Yeah it was alright." he muttered, avoiding eye contact with me.

"Look I'll just cut to the chase Maddy, does your Dad ever tell you what happens at... you know those meetings he goes to with my Dad" He means the death eater meetings. I'm not dumb when it comes to what my Dad does but still I found myself taken aback. "Umm.... I mean no he doesn't want me exposed to any of that stuff." Draco pushed himself closer to me, I could feel his body heat and smell his cologne, wow it smelled amazing almost like cedar and apples. I had to force myself not to get distracted. He spoke softly in my ear so it was just me who could hear "come with me to the quidditch field tonight, I have to explain everything to you, its not safe to talk here but I need to tell you tonight Maddy do you understand, I'll meet you in the common room at midnight trust me." I shivered as his breath hit my neck and he looked down at me finally locking eyes with me. Without waiting for my response he turned and walked away urgently, it was then that I saw what he meant by we couldn't talk here. None other than Harry Potter was approaching towards me, I turned away hoping he wouldn't strike up a conversation but I was not that lucky today.

"Snape wait." he called out.

"What do you want Potter?" I snapped, shocked at my bluntness but angry he was eavesdropping on me and Draco's conversations. Harry and I were not close, he doesn't like my father, doesn't like Slytherins and thinks he's better than everyone else. Still it was unlike me to be cruel to him but I do get angry really easily.

"I just want to warn you about Draco, I don't know what you've got going on with him but stay away... he's dangerous and you will get hurt."

With out even thinking I push him against the wall and take my wand out, the tip poking into his chin. "You think I'm the kind of damsel in distress that needs saving from the wonderful Harry Potter?"

"No I-" he spat, as he tried to get loose from my grip but I pushed him back against the wall.

"Don't ever think that I need your protection or whatever the fuck you think this is. I can take care of myself. It would be in your best interest to keep your opinions to yourself." I released him and hear cheers come from behind me, Draco and Blaise had been watching protectively over the interaction the whole time.

"Potter gets his ass handed to him by a girl, why am I not surprised?" Blaise shouted

Draco smirked at me and joined in the shouts "Jealous that I got to her before you Potter, you heard
the girl leave her alone scar face."

Ginny hear the shouting and poked her head out of our compartment door, I hurried and sat back down with them. I closed the door softly and waited for the footsteps outside to wander off.

"Well to answer your question" turning towards the girls curious faces. "Draco is definitely the one I'm going for this year."
