Josuke 4 × Reader (hopefully)

His arms had a different feeling as they wrapped themselves around your shoulders, pulling you into a tight embrace. "It's gonna be okay, it's not anything that can't be fixed." The two of you stood in a hug that wasn't awkward, but it was a surprisingly welcoming and comforting one.

Finally, he lifted his head and made a small distance between you. Still wrapped around you, he smiled that beaming smile that you always knew. The colour of his eyes seemed to shine more today, though you hadn't imagined them any brighter than they already had been. "I know, but... It just seems stupid."
"It's not stupid. I truly don't care if you were upset over chips that you dropped on the floor." You let out a breathy chuckle. "This whole virtual school deal has really got me stressed out ya know?" His eyes stare into your own before tracing your facial features with his gaze.

The two of you couldn't remember a time when you didn't know one another. All of your lives you would end up talking again, after the arguments and fights that come along with any good friendship.

"It's just that somehow I have even less motivation to do well..." You pull away from his embrace and he gives a nod, motioning for you to sit in the chair he pulled from under the table. "The same routine over and over and over again... On top of it all, it doesn't feel like school, it doesn't feel real."

Virtual school had taken a toll on your mental health as well as your grades. The whole ordeal didn't feel mandatory, and it was the same thing every single day: Your alarm went off early in the morning before you got up and lazily put yourself together, barely presentable. It didn't matter much. Nobody saw you anyways. The anxieties that came with online meets had subsided long before now, and sitting at the desk in your room for 8 hours a day became second nature to you.

You could still feel his warm stare on your face. "You look healthier." A smile tugged at the corner of his lips as he searched for something else to look at. "Yeah... I guess so, I've probably gained a few pounds since school started." Now that the thought occurred to you, your face and limbs had gotten fuller. Livelier. You could tell that he was happy to see you 'taking care of yourself' despite them most likely being from laziness and eating due to boredom.

The small store was filled with a somewhat green light from florescent tubes that hung above the aisles, a buzzing sound filling what would otherwise be silence. The two of you made your way up and down the walkways, grabbing various snacks off of the shelves and filling the small basket dangling from Josuke's arm. You saw him without his uniform jacket many times before but there was something about the way the short sleeve conformed to his arm this time. It was usually a yellow tank top but the sleeves made it... He turned around, holding a box of another kind of snack, face scrunched in what would be a smile if it weren't for the mask. "What about these?" The pure joy in his voice was quite contagious as you returned the smile and nodded your head in affirmation to the red box in his large hands.

Josuke argued with you about paying, as always, but you were sure you would owe him a favour or possibly money later. Not that you minded, he always asked for small things such as a pack of gum or grabbing a drink from the fridge.

The walk had been somewhat long, though the trip was a common occurrence as the pompadoured boy often took you to this wonderful spot. It was a secluded, small space. A feeling of cosiness somehow washed over you after you enter the small clearing after the troublesome weaving you had to do to get through the thorns and other things. A tarp was tied to the larger few trees that grew from the edge of the tiny place. a frame of mismatched branches and sticks were secured with twine and placed under the tarp to form into a pyramid-like shape, so the water wouldn't catch. From there, oil lamps would hang, so you could stay there far into the night and possibly sleep there. "You act like it's the first time you've seen this place every time we come here" he laughs. You look in his direction from across the small clearing and can't help but giggle at the small twigs and leaves caught in his hair. A stare of confusion and anger filled his eyes, silently accusing you of bashing his totally rad hairstyle. You turned your head away to rummage through the pack of food while commenting on the nature that littered his now 'deflated' hair.

He stepped out from under the tarp, into the rain, grabbing your attention. "Josuke what in the hell are yo-" He ruffles his hair in the rain, letting it soak in the fresh rain. The water fell faster, soaking his hair and to no surprise, his clothes. A long sigh escaped his lips as he tilted his head to face the sky, closing his eyes. The dark locks were much longer than you had expected, reaching past his shoulders. You couldn't help but watch him relax, muscles loosening. Perhaps he hadn't had a moment to himself in quite a long time. It just didn't seem like something he'd do, willingly stepping under the clouds as they poured over the various bumps and dips of his body. The yellow top clung to his toned body as he once again shook his fingers through his hair to rid of the copious amounts of styling gel. His eyes met yours after a long, accidental stare. "Josuke?" He raised an eyebrow. "What in the fuck are you doing?" Your harsh tone surprised him but he replied with something along the lines of 'my hair was messed up so I just took it down.' "there's still sticks in it you dumbass." You zipped the bag up before walking to the edge of the covered dirt, grabbing his slick arm to drag him under, not wanting to go into the rain. He sat in the dirt while you stood on you knees behind him, slowly picking twigs, leaves, and other plants out of his hair. "lean your head back, I can't see the ones in your hairline." A hand was placed on his forehead, lightly tilting his head back. Standing up, you got a better look at what you were doing. He opened his eyes and looked up at you, his face filled with an emotion you didn't know. "Don't look at me, stupid." His eyebrows furrowed after you lightly smacked his head, but his face quickly returned to the way it was before. A hand touched the back of your head, bringing your faces closer. "And what do you think you're doing, Josuke?" Annoyance lined your words.

He pulled you to his lips, slowly grabbing yours with his own. You eventually give in and return his kiss, his hands gently pulling at your hair. He slightly pulled you away, your faces still brushing against one another, and stared at you with half-lidded eyes before whispering "I think you owe me a favour... for the food." He then pulled you back into a kiss, but this time it was more aggressive, hungrier. You pushed away from him, forcing a sad look into his eyes, his cheeks flushed with embarrassment.

He held you in his lap, both of you breathing heavier as the kiss continued. The thought of his soft lips playing with yours sent electricity down your spine, face heating up. You could feel something rub against your thigh, instantly making you break the kiss. "I think that's enough for now..." Your eyes opened to find a red-faced Josuke staring at you, chest rising and falling, much like yours. "Y-yeah." He stuttered. An awkward silence filled the air.

"I think I'll be heading home, Josuke." He nodded, still seated on the ground. You yanked the bag up, "Oi, I'm taking the food too."
"You can't do that! I'm the one who paid!" He whined. "Yeah, but I paid you back," you said with a smile on your face.  You walked back without him.

Fuck I can't write for shit. I guess it's okay though. 1430 words. Sorry for the cringe, I'll get better tho.
