It was the last day of school for us kids in Pendleton Oregon, and this meant summer. This meant water slides, and pools and no homework. This also meant practicing for the motocross races that would start early this summer. Right after the bell rang for us students to go home, I felt the luxurious feeling of freedom. No more homework. No more getting detention. No more calls home from school. Shortly after getting to my locker, I came across my friend tommy, standing and waiting, waiting for me to arrive. "dude, Jeremy, can you believe it, its the last day of school. We are finally free!!" Tommy briefly said with enthusiasm. " Yah, I know. I just cant wait to go against you in the races". Tommy said in a challenging way, "Meet me at the track today and we'll see who is a better rider". "deal" I said. I then headed home to gear up.
