Nick Fury

Today was a pretty normal day. I was currently sitting at my desk, with my feet propped up, going through a file on some kind of artifact. It was about this thing called a Soul Stone, it looked extremely powerful but we weren't actually sure what it did. It obviously had something to do with souls according to its name but no one could get close enough to even touch it because it would attack.

The agent who brought it in said that he barely got contained it into a suitable container, and he was my best agent! The leading scientists assigned to the stupid gem also said that it was impossible to run any tests on it.

So what do I do when I can't find a damn answer, you ask? I tell my best agent to figure it out since he was the one that brought it in from a secret Hydra base.

I leaned over my desk pressing a button on my office phone. "Agent Hill, tell Agent Jackson that he is needed in my office at once" I thought about it a minute before adding "tell him to leave his sass at the damn door."

I heard Agent Hill's chuckle over the phone "I will certainly try, director." Was the last thing I heard before the call went dead once again. I was left to my thoughts on how I was going to get the stubborn assassin to agree with my plan.

The door opened and the closest thing I had to a son stepped in. "You called Fury?" Perseus Jackson had entered the room.

I gestured to the seat in front of my desk which he took. I studied him knowing once I told him what I wanted him to do, there would be a very high chance of an explosion. He was wearing the Shield's standard black uniform with combat boots double knotted. He had two guns strapped to his waist on either side, his double Olympian silver swords sheathed over each shoulder. I couldn't see them but I knew there was a dagger hidden in his boot and one slipped under his sleeve. His face was blank, emotionless, I couldn't read a thing on his face besides the dry humor he let me see in his eye. His sea, green ocean eyes. Hair was as messy as ever but yet somehow still professional, I don't know how he does it but I was bald so I didn't really have much to say.

"Well is there something you want or are you just going to keep studying me?" That was enough for me to be snapped out of my head. I knew the only reason why he spoke was because he finished his own evaluation on me that was probably way more detailed than mine. He had a knack for reading people better than me.

"I don't know, I'll get back to you on that." I smirked at his exasperated sigh. He leaned back into his chair propping his legs up right next to mine. Waiting for me to give in, but I wasn't going to stand down, at least not without a fight. Our staring contest was long and intense, but eventually I broke down. "I have a mission for you that you might not like." His stupid victorious smirk was still on his face. I glared at him, of course he wasn't taking this seriously! "I need you to figure out a way to get past the Soul stone's defenses." I decided to bite the bullet in the butt and to see that stupid smirk wiped from his face was purely worth it.

He went back to the stoic, serious, emotionless agent that I needed at the moment. Finally he was taking this seriously! "Why the hell, me?" he asked in a deadly calm voice.

"Because, you're the only person to get anywhere near it."

"It attacked me! Just like everyone else, what makes you think I can get past it's defenses." his voice rose a little in anger, mask still in place.

"Call it a hunch."

"A hunch? You're willing to bet my life on a mere hunch what is your problem." He practically growled at me.

"Look it hasn't killed anyone." I could hear the mumble 'yet' coming from the 20 year old in front of me. "This isn't up for debate. I have a good feeling about this. Just do your damn job and I thought I said to leave your damn sass, at the damn door!" His smirky glare told me all I needed to know of his thoughts on that comment. "Stop acting like a 5 year old, start acting like the damn good agent I know you are and get your ass to lab 105."
