I stepped outside to feel the cool morning air hit my face.  I walked to the bus stop to meet my

friends Gracie and Jen as usual.  As I walked up to them, they both greeted me with a smile.  "Hey

Alexis." Jen said.  "Hey guys."  "Where were you last night?!?!" Gracie demanded.  "Yeah, the party

was awesome." Jen said.  "Guys. You know I'm not a party person. Plus, I had a lot of homework to

finish." I said.  Jen raised one eyebrow. "Homework? Are you serious? Your a 16 year old high

school girl and you have the decision between party and homework and you choose homework?!?

Your crazy right?" "I told you. I hate parties. No one even knows I exist anyway."  "Well we do and

Trisha's parties are the biggest parties of the year. You would have had some fun." Jen said.  Ah

Trisha. The meanest, brattiest, most spoiled girl of all East High.  Even so, all the guys like her.  No

guy ever even comes with in spitting distance of me.  I'm weird to everyone else besides Jen and

Gracie.  People just don't like me, and I don't really enjoy people either.  I'm just another nerd.  I

looked down at my scrawny, slender body and sighed.  "I hate Trisha. I don't care how cool she

is."   I said holding my long, blonde hair between my fingers.  "Just forget it then." Jen said.  Jen

was always the more persistant one out of her and Gracie.  She was always determined to make

sure I was having a good time. Which I guess I should be thankful for, but it just gets pretty

annoying.  I am fine the way I am. With my two friends.  I already tried to be more out there and I'm

never going back.  I just got beat up.  I fiddled with my glasses and sat down on the bench by the

bus stop to wait for the bus.  Gracie and Jen followed.  The yellow, old fashioned, school bus pulled

up and we got on.  I took a seat next to this really skinny girl with silky brown hair and caramel

brown eyes.  She smiled at me.  Woah.  Was I making eye contact with someone with out them

running away?  I smiled back at her.  She must be new or something to sit next to me and not want

to run away.  "Hi, I'm Tori." she said.  "Alexis." I mumbled back.  "Oh. Hi. I'm new here and don't

really know anyone. Could you maybe show me around or something?" she asked.  I knew it.  "I

don't think you want to get into the bad habit of hanging with me.  I'm not really 'fun'." I said.  "I don't

mind.  Maybe we could hang out some time.  Here." she said handing me her number on a pink

sticky note.  "Umm thanks." I said.  "You can text me sometime." she said.  The bus halted to a stop

and I stod up.  "Yeah. Sure." I said walking away.  Okay, I know I may have blown my only

opportunity of another friendship, but I wasn't in the best mood today.  I had only gotten about three

hours of sleep last night.  As I walked in the school, I felt a tap on my shoulder.  It was Tori.  Was

she planning on following me everywhere today?  I saw Jen and Gracie walking up behind her with

hopeful faces.  Tori smiled and said, "So, can you tell me where English class A12 is?"  "Well that's

my English class too, so I guess you can just follow me."  "Great!" she smiled.  We slowly made

our way into the school and down the hallway entering room A12.  Ugh. I hated this class.  This was

Mrs. Hamilton's class.  I hate her.  She tends to spit everytime she talks and I sit front row.  As the

seniors like to call, "the splash zone".  One time, Jerry, a guy from the football team, was enjoying a

taco at lunch time, and Mrs. Hamilton came to tell him he was failing english and needed to do

some extra credit or something.  After that conversation, you can bet your buttons he didn't eat that

taco.  As we took our seats, I found myself gazing uncontrolably at the gorgous guy who sits next to

me.  Josh Perry.  The cutest guy on the football team.  I've heard roomers that he has a six pack,

although, I don't think that's a rumor.  Hey, a girl can dream can't she?  I quickly looked away as I

noticed Tori giving me a strange look.  "You like him, don't you?" she asked.  "What? No!" I

defended. Liar. You like him. No I don't! get out of my head! "Sure." she said grinning.  I watched as

Gracie and Jen walked in.

They took their seats in the BACK ROW! Oh how I envied them.  I turned my head and saw Josh

looking at me.  Then, he got up and walked right towards me.  My heart sped up.
