BOTW Link x reader]

The beginning Part 1

"Oh! Sorry about that, my name is Y/n, what about you?" You tilted your head in question after he told his name, it was Rhoam.

--Le time skip because I'm kinda lazy lol--

You've walked around the forest, collecting items like shrooms, courser bee honey, even though you did get stung. Some lizards, sunset fireflies, and others. When you were heading towards a stone mountain, you saw that it looked like the top of the tower, so after getting past a monster camp, that didn't go well because one of the monsters on the tower saw you, it looked like some sort of pig-human thing, you looking around frantically, you ran off and saw a small mound, then you saw a pedestal that was similar to the one you saw at the shrine, but when you scanned it, it didn't work.

"Y/n, it won't work with one sheikah slate, you must find Link so you can activate the tower."

'Oh, so that's why it didn't work, I need to find Link.' You thought.

You looked at your sheikah slate and saw an a/c (any color you pick) arrow that was in the same area as you. "So that must be where I am.." Then you saw another arrow, but it was yellow. "Oh! that must be where Link is!" You were excited because you could finally start your adventure. Luckily the arrow wasn't that far away, you were going to see how far away it was when you heard some shrieking several feet away. 

'Welp, there he is'. You ran over to the noise, and you saw a young boy around the same age as you (He's 17, so let's pretend you are 16-17) You noticed his shiekah slate and that he was fighting some of those monsters you saw earlier. You ran over, and one of the monsters saw you and yelled, and came towards you, looking around at your surroundings, you picked up a rock, held it over your head and threw it at the monster.

The monster, who once had a club and a shield, fell to the ground dropping its club. Right as it was about to get up to grab it's weapon to attack you with, but you jumped right in and grabbed it. But, right as you were going to grab the shield, it was too late, the monster already got back up, and charged towards you, so, not knowing how to fight, you charged towards it and started smacking the shield like it was a piñata at a kids party, until it dropped its guard letting you hit the monster itself until the body turned black and disappeared into puff of smoke.

(Link's POV)

As I was fighting one of the Bokogoblins, I saw one start running past me, after I defeated the one I was fighting, I collected their loot, and I turned around to see a Hylian girl around my age, I noticed that she had a sheikah like mine, and was wearing some old clothing somewhat like mine. She grabbed a rock, a pretty big one and held it over her head, the monster,  it had a club and shield and I knew for sure that she was going to get hurt, but right as I was going to step in and help the girl, that was when the monster jumped up ready to attack, she threw the rock at it, making it fall to the ground, so then, the girl ran to grab the Boko then try the shield, but to no avail, the monster woke up, and and charged towards her, she ran over and started hitting t the shield monster until it went off guard, leaving itself open so she can attack. And she did, she attacked it until it disappeared into a puff of smoke, leaving their monster parts behind. She then grabbed the shield, and shrugged a bit until she managed to put it away, then she turned towards me.

She had h/c hair, that seemed in a nice length, not too long nor too short, but enough to fit into a  ponytail. She also had e/c eyes, and clean s/c skin, she looked young for a teen around my age.

(Y/n POV)

You turned towards Link and smiled. "So, you must be Link, right?"

He only nodded in response instead of speaking. Not to mention you could tell he was studying your features like your height. But you were doing the same, he seemed to be 5,7. (A/N: He is 5,7 and I'm 5,4 :D) He also seemed to have dirty blonde hair and seemed to have blue eyes, they were pretty beautiful, if you had to admit.

"Well, I'm Y/n, that's what a voice told me too, and no it wasn't my mind or gut feeling. You see, the voice told me to come find you, saying we need both of our Sheikah Slates to activate those Mound things called "Shrines."

He nodded again, with a small grunt, you had a small frown, thinking he already didn't like you.

(another time skip)

You both have activated the tower, and defeated the bokogoblins, now you guys have to have four spirit orbs to get Rhoams paragliders. It was sunset, so you and Link were finding a spot to stay for the night, then you found a giant tree, and there was a lot of room under the roots to stay for the night. You saw some red and yellow leaves, and when you cleared them out, once you did, a small creature popped up which made you stumble back and land on your butt. Then the little creature spoke up.

"Woah! you can see me-dear Hylia! Are you okay?" They stumbled over to you and touched your leg, and you nodded in response.

"Y-Yeah just peachy, what or who are you?" You laid your hand out, and the creature jumped on it, and you held it next to your lap.

"I'm a Korok! My friends and I are all around Hyrule, there are small puzzles, like mine, but the red and yellow leaves are ment to be set on fire, like in shrines. But luckily we only appear after you get rid of them."

You made a smile at the korok and patted its head, which had them giggle a bit.

"You are small, not to mention you look adorable." You laughed a bit.

"Thank you! and since you found me, you can have this!" The korok handed you a yellow seed.

"Those are korok seeds, our friend Hestu can use them to upgrade your inventory!"

"Oh! thank you then! I'll remember to look out for more of the puzzles!" You smiled, put away the seed in your pouch, and set the korok down.

"Also, can my partner and I stay here for the night? I need to make some food but I can give you some if you'd like."

The korok nodded and you called link over, then you set up the stuff and started a small fire to cook some food. The fire was a calming temperature, and it was nice. You then looked over at Link

"Hey, Link? Can you speak?

He looked over to you and nodded

"So you choose not to?"

He nodded again, getting kinda annoyed but you couldn't tell.

"But why? I mean, we are partners, so I think we should at least communicate with eachother.."

(Link's POV)

I got annoyed by the questions and I yelled at her.

"Look, I don't speak because I choose not to, okay?! You don't understand the type of stress it is, that voice already gave me a giant quest ever since I woke up 2 hours ago! Saying I have to save Hyrule! And I was then a knight, 100 years ago? And im the only hope? I chose not to speak, thinking I'll make everything worse! But looks like you already did that! Well done Y/n, well done."

I looked at her, glaring, but when I looked in her e/c eyes, she looked like she were about to cry, her eyes were glossy, and full of fear, of me.. I was about to say something. Then she got up, took her satchel, and left me by the fire. I felt horrible

(Y/N POV)

You felt hurt, you knew he had his reasons but he didn't have to shout at you. So you left the spot and walked around the forest and you felt hot tears running down your cheeks. You walked around 'till you spotted the old man from earlier by a cooking pot. He seemed to be cooking some soup so you walked over.

"Hi sir, what are you making?" You asked as you sat down by him. He looked up at you and smiled.

"Hello Dear, I'm making some soup, would you like some?"

"Yes please.." he handed you a bowl, and you wiped away your tears with the back of your hand.

You explained what happened between you and Link so the old man offered to take you to his cabin for the night, which you agreed without thinking twice, so he led you to his cabin and luckily he had an extra bed since his daughter used to live with him, but she disappeared years ago. So he let you sleep in it for the night.

(Link's POV)

Y/n hasn't came back at all that night.. I grew worried about her, what if she got hurt, or worse. No, she could protect herself. I just hope she comes back tomorrow, I have to apologize to her for my actions earlier.
