Okay, We All Know How To Catch Pokemon. Throw A Pokeball, The End.

BUT!

There's parts of the game that they don't tell you, like the fact that all Pokemon on Route 1 have a 100% encounter rate.

(For Each Pokeball, I Will Have An Effectiveness Rating, Starting at 1. This will not count for Catch Rate, but of how useful it is.)

DIFFERENT POKEBALLS

Pokeball
The Standard Pokeball, used for catching Pokemon. Normal Price of ₽200.

Effectiveness Rating: 1

It's a very basic Pokeball, and can be stocked up on very early.

Great Ball
A better version of the Pokeball, and has a 50% higher chance of catching Pokemon. Normal Price of 600₽.

Effectiveness Rating: 1.5

It's also a good option, but not available at the very beginning. Recommended for catching a strong Pokemon early in-game.

Ultra Ball
A much better Pokeball, which is twice as better as the normal Pokeball. Normal Price of ₽1,200

Effectiveness Rating: 2

A very good Pokeball to have on hand, but quite costly. Recommended to stock up on when taking on a Legendary Pokemon.

Master Ball
A Pokeball that will catch any Pokemon without fail. As rare as Psyduck's teeth.

Effectiveness Rating: 10

Probably the best Pokeball in the game, it's usually reserved for Legendary Pokemon, because their catch rate is very low, and you can only encounter one per game. (Unless you're playing Ultra Sun and Moon, and collecting Ultra Beasts, but we'll cover that later.)

Premier Ball
A uniquely-designed Pokeball, used to celebrate special occasions. Normal price of ₽200, but included with every purchase of 10 Pokeballs.

Effectiveness Rating: 1
It's nothing special, just a nicer-looking Pokeball. Once caught a Raikou in one.

Dive Ball
A Pokeball With A 3.5x catch rate when Surfing, Fishing or Diving. Normal Price of ₽1,000.

Effectiveness Rating: 1
Effectiveness Rating (Requirements Met): 4.5

A great Pokeball if you're trying to catch a rare Pokemon in a pool of water, but I mainly use it for any Water-Type, even if I caught it on land.

Dusk Ball
A Pokeball with a 3.5x catch rate if you're in a cave, or exploring at night. At any other time, it has a normal 1x catch rate. Normal Price of ₽1,000.

Effectiveness Rating: 1
Effectiveness Rating (Requirements Met): 4.5

Definitely recommended for trying to catch Pokemon that appear at night, like Alolan Ratatta or Spinarak.

Luxury Ball
A Pokeball with a 1x catch rate, but will make Pokemon grow friendly quicker. Normal Price of ₽1,000.

Effectiveness Rating: 1

"Here's where I'd put my Pokemon in a Luxury Ball!"

"IF I HAD ONE!"

I don't reccomend normally using Luxury Balls, but if you're trying to catch a Pokemon that evolves through high friendship, like Pichu or Eevee, then catch it in one of these.

Heal Ball
A Pokeball that heals the HP, PP, and Status Conditions upon catching it. Normal Price of ₽300.

Effectiveness Rating: 1

I only reccomend buying these early on, only because it's quicker than going to the Pokemon Center after catching a Pokemon. Also very good for adding a Pokemon to your party right away (In Sun & Moon.)

Nest Ball
A Pokeball that increases it's catch rate the lower the opposing Pokemon's level. Max rate is 4x. Normal Price of ₽1,000.

Effectiveness Rating: 1
Effectiveness Rating (Max Level) 5

Very good for revisiting an area, Shiny Hunting, and being stuck in an area with high level Pokemon, while the Pokemon in the grass are a lower level.

Net Ball
A Pokeball that is effective at catching Bug-Type and Water-Type Pokemon. Normal Price of ₽1,000.

Effectiveness Rating: 1
Effectiveness Rating (Requirements Met): 4

Very good for catching Wimpod, Surskit and other Water/Bug-Type Pokemon, and good for land-locked Water Types(will explain in a later chapter)

Repeat Ball
A Pokeball that grows more effective (A 3x Catch Rate Increase) if you have caught the same species of Pokemon before. Normal Price of ₽1,000.

Effectiveness Rating: 1
Effectiveness Rating (Requirements Met): 4

A good Pokeball for hunting for a good-natured Pokemon, or looking for good stats.

Quick Ball
A Pokeball that has a 5x catch rate increase at the start of a battle. Normal Price of ₽1,000.

Effectiveness Rating: 1
Effectiveness Rating (Requirements Met): 6

A very good Pokeball for getting things out of the way, but not always reliable. Better on lower-level routes, mainly because the Pokemon have higher catch rates on lower-level routes. Also good for catching the rare and elusive Abra.

Timer Ball
A Pokeball with the added effect of a higher catch rate the longer a battle goes.

Effectiveness Rating (Turns 1-10): 1
Effectiveness Rating (Turns 11-20): 2
Effectiveness Rating (Turns 21-30): 3
Effectiveness Rating (Turn 31+): 4

Reccomend for Legendary Pokemon, most likely because you'll run out of Ultra Balls by Turn 40-ish, depending on how many you have.

All Pokeballs Above Are Related To Pokemon Sun-Moon, Not Any Other Game, Because Prices Vary In Pokemon Sword / Shield.
