"Alright, You ready to try again?", Toshinori asked the little girl sitting in front of him.
She had pitch-black hair that stopped at her shoulders. Her eyes were a shade of grey that could be mistaken for a different color depending on the lighting. And she was so small compared to the mountain of a man who was in front of her.
She nodded her head before speaking, "Hello, my name is Kana."
He laughed now that she had finally understood that Kana, was her name. "That's my girl! Now we can go get ice cream!"
She smiled and took his hand before jumping off the stool and walking out of the house. On the way to the store, there was a puddle of dirty water on the sidewalk from the recent downpour.
Toshinori tried to lead her around the puddle but she kept tugging at his hand showing she wanted to play in it. He was going to tell her, no, but he just couldn't say it to her adorable little face.
He sighed before allowing her to jump into the puddle and get her clothes drenched. She loved the feeling of the cool water on her skin, it made her feel safe. When she was done playing she ran up to him and giggled.
"Now we can get ice cream." She said.
He smiled and took her hand before walking with her to the store.
