Hmm...I wonder...

I picked up my phone and dialed her number.

It rang for awhile and I felt my hand was sweaty as I waited for her to pick up.

"Hello?" Her voice rang in through the receiver.

"Hello, Seohyun? Your husband here."

I heard her giggle. "Oh. Anyeonghasaeyo, Oppa." There were squeals in the background. She must've been with her sisters.

"Seohyun-ah. I was just wondering, what are you wearing to the shooting tomorrow? Maybe we could match and pretend as if it was just a mere coincidence. You know, so people would think we really were match made in heaven."

She laughed at that. "De. That's a great idea. But I'm not sure yet. What do you want to wear?"

I lay down on my bed, staring at the ceiling. I've been doing that a lot lately. "You're asking me? I thought girls liked dressing up?"

"Mmm. Wait one minute, oppa." I listened as she conversed with her sisters. "Unnie, what should I wear?" Then there were ruffling sounds as if she was going through her closet. "Wait a sec. Hold on." She kept telling me. That's how considerate she was.

"Aigoo, oppa. This is hard. Can I call you back in a while? I need to think first."

I laughed at her fretting over what to wear. "Don't hurt your head thinking about it, okay? And don't forget to call me back. I'll be waiting."

I strummed my guitar as I waited for her to call. I was writing a new song, but it wasn't finished yet. Thinking about her, the lyrics were slowly starting to form in my head, but I was still unsure to write them down.

Just as I was about to reach for a pencil, my phone rang. "Yah buin! I thought I was going to wait forever for you!" I teased.

There was that tinkling laughter again. "I'm sorry. But I've decided on what to wear." So she described her outfit to me. I nodded, I had something similar to that. "Oh, and I'll be wearing a skirt. If you want to match that too, I don't mind..."

I liked how she wasn't too shy anymore to tease and joke around with me. "Really? I'm worried if I wear a skirt, you'll find me irresistable..." And the conversation went on like that until we both decided to call it a night. I had to say, I couldn't wait to see her.

...

"Remember, if anybody asks, tell them it was just a concidence and we didn't plan on anything, okay?" I whispered into her ear when we met up the next day. She looked up at me with an innocent smile and signalled 'ok' with her fingers.

The shooting started with us meeting at a cafe. We exchanged the CDs with my bandmates writing messages for their hyungsoonim and her unnies writing scary reminders for me. "Make Seohyun cry and 8 of us will hate you." I felt shivers run down my spine. I seriously felt she was dead serious. Reading those letters, other than making beads of sweat form on my forehead, it made me feel happy because she had 8 sisters who really cared for her. But that also meant she had 8 sisters who would undeniably have my head if ever I did something bad to her.

I made her face go beet red when I read her letter to me. I'd always liked what she wrote. I didn't know if it was just for show, but from what I've learnt about her so far, I felt she was being sincere. Reading it in a cheesy DJ tone was just to cover up how touched I really felt. I wasn't ready to show it since I myself was still unsure about it. But then we reached a topic I was sensitive about.

My height. Yeah, fine, I'm the shortest out of all four of us but admitting that infront of her was embarrassing. Especially knowing that she's the 2nd tallest in SNSD. I really hoped she wouldn't tease me about that too much.

On our way to buy her a guitar, the next thing written in our scripts, I mentioned how she copied my clothing that day. It was funny seeing her pretending it wasn't set up, since she was such an honest person. I couldn't once imagine this girl lie. But then again, in this industry, I bet she'd had to lie a thousand times already. I know I'd had.

She looked cute with the pink guitar in her lap, playing the chords I taught her over and over again. But it was out of my budget range. I really couldn't afford it. But I was determined. Once we're making lots of money, I'll buy her that pink guitar. And maybe even a goguma field, since she loves them so much. And then it was time for me to state my wish. I had thought long and hard about it, since she said the wish had to be something meaningful. And when we played music together the other day, I realized that I'd like her to play something for me. And so I searched for the easiest song for her to play. That's how 'What's Up' ended up to be my choice. She only had to play three chords.

During lunch, Seohyun was being cheeky with me. She ordered for me a jujube latte that tasted awful and tricked me into drinking it clean. My mouth tasted foul right after finishing it. And then she made me hang our couple notes at a high spot, teasing about my height in the process, and then purposely changing her mind right the moment I had succeeded hanging up the notes. Really, I wanted to pinch her chubby cheeks right then and there but I restrained myself. I didn't think Seohyun was used to acts of affection and I definitely was too afraid to show it.

"I really hope it's a pretty house," she suddenly said on our busride towards Songdo dong when the cameras weren't rolling.

I turned to look at her and our eyes met. "Yeah? Me too."

"It'll be where we're going to share lots of memories together. So I want it to be just nice."

Hesitantly, I took her hand. "Hey, I'm sure it's going to be perfect. White house. Red roof. And of course, a beautiful garden where we can plant gogumas!"

It felt so good to hear her laugh. "You can't plant gogumas in the garden!"

Her hand slowly slipped out of mine. A pang of disappointment hit me. Maybe she was just not ready for that yet. So I made a mental note not to be hasty to have skinship on the show any time soon. Our relationship would be slow but meaningful. But knowing that I might be the first guy to hold her hand is a reward enough for me. Everything that happens on this show would be her first. And I promised myself to make every first experince for her special.

"Well, maybe then I'll have to get you a goguma field." She laughed some more.
