The next morning after he woke up, went to the bathroom and got dressed, Jake went downstairs. He knew his mother. Most likely she will keep pushing him to accept the idea of war. If she was going to do that he will go home. He was going to be stubborn on this matter and that was it! No one was going to make him kill another person! Not even Kaleb and he was at the top of his hate list.

'Good morning' he said stiffly as he entered the open space downstairs. He noticed everyone was there, he was the last to join. What time did they wake up?

'Morning son' said Alan in his usual tone. 'Are you hungry? June just made some delicious pancakes.'

'Um, sure, thanks' Jake took 2 pancakes from the huge pile on the counter and went to sit down at the table. 'Dad, I have a question. Do you know if there is a clan that has the ability to erase themselves from your memories?'

'Yes, this clan exists and besides making themselves gone from your mind they can make other people too. The clan is called Oblivis and had always been among the high class. Marriages have been happening between the Oblivis and the Leader's family. It is a useful power, especially for the protection of the Leader. Why do you ask?'

"Remember when we went to save mom? At the big table, there was the Leader with his wife and his son, the elders and there was this young girl. I think she is the future wife of my cousin. Can you remember anything about her?'

'Well, now that you mention this, I was quite busy always keeping an eye on June and you, but now as I try to remember I see what you mean. I have a clear imagine of everyone on that table except for her, she is like a shadow. She must be an Oblivis.'

"I kept rewinding what happened that day and I found this was odd. As well, I couldn't get a read from her. Like her feelings. I am connected here with everything and I can feel everyone's emotions. With her is nothing, no feelings and no appearance.'

'Yes, that will be their power. Also, not many things are known about their clan. They mostly keep it to themselves. Even though they are a high class clan, they live nearly outside the Society. They train in secret, no outsider is allowed on their premises. So no one really knows how they do it. For years I had a curiosity about them as a scientist and I investigated them for a little bit until I was told by your father to stop. Apparently the Oblivis found out that I was asking questions and they didn't like it. So out of respect and friendship for your father I stopped...'

'So the Leader secured a marriage with an Oblivis for his son. He must be a little bit weak. Why else would you need power like this?' said Jake.

'No, don't think like that Jake. It is wrong. This makes you underestimate your opponents. I told you marriages like this happened before, it is not uncommon and it says nothing about your cousin's power. Besides your uncle is very stubborn when it comes to royalty and high class clans. He married your grandparents choice, your aunt was also from a high class clan. It was his turn to choose for his son, so he chose from a strong clan. Only your parents believed in love and were bold enough to actually get married. Well, we did the same' at this he smiled at June. She sat quietly at the table while Alan and Jake spoke which was very weird for her. She was looking at her coffee cup which she held with both her hands. She felt Alan's gaze on her and she lifted her eyes. She smiled back at him.

Now Alan was getting younger as well, they both looked around their twenties. It looked like they were a gang of teenagers making holiday plans. June seemed troubled by something and Jake was feeling a little bit guilty thinking it was about the conversation they had yesterday.

'Mom?'

"Yes Jake?' she seemed startled to be called out loud.

'I want to talk more about my no fighting campaign. I really want to do it this way, to do a display of power and scare them away. Also, I really believe this will work.'

'Oh Jake, you are so like your father. I am considering if I should even bother changing your mind. From the past I realize it will do exactly nothing because you are so stubborn. I should praise you for being able to spot the Oblivis girl, at least you have a brain, not just muscles' she smiled and raised her cup and took a sip.

Jake smiled back and continued eating his pancakes. He felt weird because June was acting strange. He didn't know what was going on. Alan was ok, so they didn't fight. There was something on her mind otherwise all her energy had to be focused on Jake and his decision.

'We should see what Victor has to say about my plan.'

'I will speak with him after I finish eating' said Alan.

'Also mom, I was thinking I need to practice a little bit. Since we came here, I have done nothing but sit at this table, look at maps and discuss strategies. I need a little bit of exercise.' Again June seemed far away so Jake had to call her name one more time and repeat what he said because she heard nothing. She smiled again, but said that she will only supervise his training. Not actually fight with him. 'Weird' Jake thought, it wasn't like her to refuse a fight. Was she punishing him for not starting a war? He had no idea, but he would deffinitely find out.
