"Weren't we together last night?"

"Did we?"

"Tell me we didn't."

"WE DID. HOLY SHIT."

Aurora saw Calum's whole thought process and she grimaced as she went down the messages.

Luke came over to see what was bothering Aurora. He looked at the phone and saw the messages.

He grabbed her phone.

"You're not getting this back until we're done with our little pet shop visit," Luke said matter of factly.

Aurora began to protest, but Luke shushed her by putting her phone in his pocket.

Luke smiled triumphantly and began to walk out of the house. Aurora followed him to his car.

"Hey, I have to go home and change, okay? Oh, and I have to pick someone else up. I hope that's okay. I kinda told him I would help him pick out a pet too, and I just don't have time to go twice in the week," Luke rambled.

"Luke, it's fine," Aurora assured him.

"Okay, good," Luke said relieved.

Luke began to drive away and back to his house. When they pulled in the drive, Luke got out and ran inside. He came back out in a pair of black skinny jeans, and a black muscle tee with a maroon SnapBack to hide his unwashed hair.

He climbed back in the driver's seat and pulled out of the driveway. The drive to the mystery person's apartment complex didn't take long.

Luke got out once again, and walked into the apartment complex. He came back 5 minutes later with a boy with bright red hair.

Luke and the mystery boy climbed in.

"This is Aurora Parker," Luke introduced.

"Woah, like the fucking princess?" the boy asked.

"Yes, like the fucking princess. Call me a princess, and I will cut your balls off," Aurora growled.

"Now what fun would that be? How could I bang girls without a dick?" the boy asked innocently.

"Aurora, this is Michael Clifford," Luke says cutting them both off from the insults.

"Clifford? Like the Big Red Dog?" Aurora laughed.

"Yes, like the dog. Call me that, and I'll have to hurt that pretty little body of yours," Michael returned sweetly.

Luke quickly turned the radio on to drown out the obvious tension in the car.

The drive to the pet store was very tense. Luke kept a hard grip on the steering wheel.

Finally, they pulled into the parking lot of the pet store. The three teens got out of the car.

Once they entered the shop, both Michael and Aurora's faces lit up like Christmas trees.

Both people made an immediate bee line to the kittens that were up for adoption. They saw multiple cats, but one caught their eye.

It was a Siamese kitten with piercing blue eyes. It was possibly the cutest thing either of them had ever seen.

Aurora got there first. Michael trailing not far behind.

"This one," they both said to Luke.

Their heads whipped around to look at each other.

"What?! No! This is my cat!" they both said in unison once again.

Luke walked over to see the cat. He thought it was cute as well.

"Luke! Tell him, he can't have the cat! It's mine!" Aurora said exasperated.

"No, it's mine. Tell her, Luke," Michael said aggravated.

"Actually, it's neither of yours yet. Neither of you have adopted this cat. Now, I suggest you both stop acting like children," Luke said sternly.

Aurora and Michael's eyes were trained on the floor. Both felt ashamed of their behavior.

"How about, you two share this cat. It is neither of yours fully. You'll have certain days you trade off. That way it's not too much responsibility for either of you at once, and that way I don't have to take care of it," Luke said.

"Fine," they grumbled obviously unhappy.

Luke scooped up the kitten and walked over to the cat aisle of the store making Aurora or Michael grabbed things necessary for a cat like a collar, food, toys, a litter box, and so on.

When they finally came to the register, they had arms fills of things they needed. Two of everything, since the cat would be traveling.

Aurora paid for her half while Michael struggled to pay his. He almost didn't have the money on him.

The cashier also handed the two adopters the paperwork to adopting the cat. Both filled it out and gave it back to the woman.

They grabbed their bags and headed back to Luke's car.

"Who gets to take him home first, Luke?" Aurora asked giving him pleading eyes to choose her.

"Well, I'm not sure. I think it should be you, actually. You have a level head more so than Mike right now. No offense man," Luke added quickly.

"Humph," Michael responded.

Aurora beamed.

"What are we naming it?" Aurora asked Michael.

"Um... I don't know. What do you think, princess?" Michael jabbed.

Aurora shot him a glare before turning back to the cat.

"How about Alex? Like Alex Gaskgarth? I love All Time Low," Aurora says.

"That's actually a good idea, princess. That's one of my favorite bands too. Maybe you're not so bad," Michael said.

Aurora smiled.

They had just pulled into her driveway when her phone began to ring from Luke's pocket.

He pulled it out and handed it to her without looking at it. She checked the caller ID.

It was Calum.

Aurora felt her heart drop. When she answered the phone, she was shocked by what she heard.
