Torn Between Destiny

Chapter 1: A Sunday Wonderland

We had been on a plane for 42 hours and dad hadn't stopped talking about how excited he was for our trip I watched him as he talked about how he plans on making a fire and roasting smores while I sit and try to sing i can't help but admire how happy he is his brown eyes shining with gleam and his salt and pepper hair moving as he talks its amazing how strong he is even though he just came out of a 14 year relationship. My mother and father were having issues which was affecting my sister Natalie's and I life style although she chose to be with my mom she and I haven't really gotten along I mean we were complete opposites she would dye her hair pink or get tattoos which were really pretty and was more out going than me and most people didn't think at first that we were sisters although we both had brown tanned skin and brown eyes it was our personalities that separated us .Stopping my thoughts was the announcement that we had arrived at destiny which was absolutely freezing i was use to the sunny weather of South Africa not this my dad grabbed our luggage and we headed for the nearest taxi i put my long black hair into my jacket and hopped into the car .The ride up the hill to the cabin where we were staying was not a easy ride infact it was pretty steep but as we got nearer to the cabin it was breath taking dad was definitely more excited than me he immediately paid the driver and grabbed our things opening the door it was beautiful it kind of gave me cottage vibes

The cabin was definitely beautiful inside and out its just too bad Natalie had to study this week for tests to enjoy this beauty I walked upstairs to the room that I would be staying in it was definitely as beautiful as down stairs the bed was a grey duvet cover and the bed was made out of wooden post i jumped on the bed and sighed

It was a good 15 seconds of nothing until "Talia....Talia"
Coming dad and that was my que to go oh well so much for peace heading down stairs i saw my dad in the kitchen he looked puzzled "Dad you called for me" he finally realized I was standing behind him and turned around he gave me that look that saids that he has forgotten to get something "Talia it seems to me that i have forgotten that we actually need food to survive so we will have to go to the store quickly" why was i not surprised even at home i would have to make the shopping list of what we need luckily it was only 1 pm on a Sunday so the stores should still be open besides this was a opportunity to see the little town we were currently in .Dad dialed a taxi while I ran upstairs and got my jacket 5 minutes later dad was calling "Talia hurry up we need to leave ! "
"Coming dad" grabbing my phone off the kitchen table I run outside and hop in the taxi now driving up wasn't as bad as i thought driving down though that was a different story it was definitely worse as we got near the market i started noticing people staring or the fact that their was people wearing one long sleeve shirt and no jacket are these people even human because its freezing" Talia isn't this town interesting "snaping me out of my thoughts is my dad "Its interesting but rather weird theirs people who aren't even wearing jackets " the driver just started laughing i wonder what was so funny I shake it off my shoulder as we approached the store it wasn't busy store like in the city that I am use to but it pretty much had all that we needed to get. In the store I noticed a few of the people staring at me at first I considered whether or not I should just stare back but I dont want to seem rude so I just brushed it off finally done at the store we make it back to the cabin yes up the steep road again finally reaching the cabin door I took the opportunity ask my dad to go and explore the cabin " Hey dad do you think its possible if I can go explore around the cabin please " I even gave him my puppy eyes he luckily agreed but said that I should stay close and keep my phone on me the cabin was located near a river which had frozen up due to the cold winter season i found my self relaxing near it while listening to the birds tweet as I was starting to doze off i could have swore i saw a flash of black run through the forest across the river but i thought nothing of it at the time I finally decided to go visit the barn near the cabin where the horses were being kept

Just as I was about to approach the barn door my phone beeped dad sent a message it was time for dinner I guess I have to visit the barn another time heading to the cabin i couldn't help but feel like i was being watched so I did the only thing I thought was right i ran to the cabin like the scaredy cat I am only to be shouted at "Talia why are you running you had me worried your only 18 anything could have happened " "Sorry dad I lost tract of time let me help you set the table " after dinner and having to do the dishes i went to bed said my goodnight and only thought about how jet lag I really was until a certain thought came in my head what did I see earlier .
