"No because that was pretty vague did something happen? Can i do anything to help?" He asked

I shook my head "no" i clenched my jaw "can you please just go inside thats how you can help me right now" i forced a smile at him feeling my mouth go dry, please dont leave

He took a seat back down on the bench "ill wait till your ready to talk then" he put his head back closing his eyes and crossing his arms

"I dont want to talk okay?" I snapped "i just need people to stop fucking talking" i picked a pinecone up off the grass and wiped it as far as i could "i need people to just stop" i picked up another pinecone doing the same with it i looked up to keep my tears from falling "i want everything to just stop right now"

"Can i hug you?" Arvin asked, i didnt even realize he had stood up, i clenched my jaw and nodded, he hugged me tightly "how about we go get food or something at that diner a few minutes from here?" He asked

"Im not hungry" i gripped his shirt tightly

"Then we'll get a drink" he rubbed my back "okay?"

I nodded once

"Im sorry for snapping" i apologized as he held the door open for me

"Its okay" he came in behind me motioning toward a booth

"Is this where you take all your lady friends?" I asked sarcastically gripping my hand tightly i couldnt stop shaking

"Yeah because i have so many of those" he said sarcastically putting his jacket over my shoulders probably thinking i was cold "what are we getting?" He asked

"Ill be content with just a coke and a lemon" i pushed my arms through the sleeves

"Im sorry i gotta ask A lemon?"

I nodded "try it its really good"

A waitress came up "what can i get you?"

"Ill take a coke" he looked at me, i looked at him pleadingly "2 cokes and a lemon thank you"

"You got it honey" she walked away

"Sorry" i chewed on my fingernail

"Did someone hurt you?" Arvin asked cupping my cheek turning my head slightly to see the red marks on my cheek

"No" i said instinctively quickly "no i-im okay" i put my hand on his wrist bringing it off my cheek, he made a fist and i unclenched his fingers one by one "im sorry for worrying you" i put my forehead on the table

"Its okay slone" i put my chin on the table looking at him, he brushed the hair out of my eyes "stop apologizing"

"Sorry" i mumbled as the waitress put our drinks infront of us

"Need anything else wave me over okay kids?" She paused waiting for our responses "alrighty" then walked away

I squeezed the juice from the lemon wedge into my drink "your sure no one hurt you?" Arvin asked looking at my cheek

I nodded taking a sip from the straw

"Thank you for buying me a drink" i smiled at arvin as we pulled up infront of the church about 5 minutes before it ended "and im sorry about snapping"

Arvin groaned "please stop apologizing or im going to take it back and say its not fine" he said sarcastically

I smiled at him "okay, im gonna slip in first, wait atleast 2 minutes if you do decide to come in and hey thank you for putting up with me today" i kissed his cheek "you survived extra bitchy me, it only gets worse from here" i opened the door and slid out of the car going up to the church and opening the door quietly

I found where leonora and emma were sitting and i sat on the end of the pew "everything okay?" Leonora whispered

I linked arms with her "its better now yeah" i nodded

My father finished his speech and looked from me to beside him "ill be back in 2 seconds okay?" I smiled at leonora going to his side

"Where were you?" He snapped in a whisper

"Water" i held up the bottle i had in my hand

He eyed me suspiciously and nodded "when can i meet these girls you hang out with?" He asked narrowing his eyes at me, I shrugged, "be home by 8pm sharp tonight, i want to make sure your not whoring around with them boys"

"Yes sir" i clenched my jaw walking back toward leonora

"Im going to try out that new recipe you showed me tonight" emma smiled

"Its amazing i promise you" i smiled back as we walked out of the church
