"Enter" I said. The captain entered and bowed "You call for me My Lord" He said

I don't want a war but these rebels keep on forcing me.

She showed a scroll and opened it

"Read it" Mother said

I get the scroll and read it..

"Zuko, the Inner Court is becoming suspicious about you." mother said "You need to marry someone. You need to produce an heir Zuko. You're already 17" mother said

"Can't I choose someone that I love?!" I exclaimed

"Zuko, There's a process." She said

"How could all of you do that first. If there's an upcoming war. Winter solstice is just 2 weeks away. MOTHER! TWO WEEKS! and all the rebels will attack!" I exclaimed "Producing an heir can be a little while. There are rebels to attack soon" I said

"My Liege, there's a rule we must follow. The inner court is the responsible of choosing the King's wife." Mother said

I thought you understand me! But you didn't! I shouldn't have save you!

"Then I'll abolish that rule!" I cried out

"Zuko!" Mother exclaimed "I am the Queen of this Nation. King, Lord, Emperor or not The Queen controls the inner court. You can't abolish that rule just because of your wishes. You're a liege! You're a Majesty! You're a Lord of this Nation! You need to show them that you are willing to sacrifice for your country." She said

"Thank you for understanding." She said "All maidens will be ban on marrying. They will be sent a letter to go to the palace in two days. They will be test in 4 rounds and the top 3 maidens whom will the inner court choose will be going to the final test" she said

I sighed.

"This is the only way of stopping them. Mai's Father wants to be Mai as a Ladyship and if the inner court shooses in the top 3 the one lucky maiden will be your first ladyship, that will stop them on attacking because there's already a ladyship and they can't overthrow you now." She said

I sighed once again. She has a point. But what about her? Katara? She's the one that I want to be my first ladyship. She's the one that I want to marry. Aish

Mother smiled I looked at her "Now what?" I asked

"Don't worry My Liege, Princess Katara will be sent a letter." She said and left

My eyes widened. She's going to the test?
