After a few more minutes of trying to figure out which path to take she heard the sound of footsteps coming towards her. She turned to see a flash of red speeding towards her at rapid speed. In a panicked rush, she jumped out of the way and landed on the ground nearby. Along with her own groan, she heard someone cursing angrily as they tripped over her and landed face first on the ground. She looked over to find the culprit on the floor next to her, a scrape forming on his cheek. The shock from the incident wore off and was soon replaced by annoyance at the boy who was now rubbing his forehead and cussing up a storm. She didn't even process that he shouldn't have been able to run that fast.

"Hey, what's wrong with you? You should watch where you're going if you're going to speed through the forest like that!"
She quickly stood up, brushing all the dirt and debris off her clothes. She finally looked over and shot the male a glare. She'd already been nervous about the first day of school and now she had to deal with some asshole who didn't pay attention to his surroundings. Looking up at the male, he had long, white hair that went down to his mid back and piercing amber eyes. It took her aback for a moment as she watched him adjust a dark blue baseball cap on top of his head. Kagome was mesmerized by his hair color which shined in the light quite a bit. The thing that managed to catch her attention the most, however, was the necklace that adorned his neck. It had white beads that looked a little like fangs while the rest were round and white. A chain attached to the main part of the necklace had an even bigger looking fang with kanji carved into it hanging from it. That interest, however, was quickly interrupted by the male shouting back at her.

"Oi, you should watch where you're going! Maybe pay attention to your surroundings next time instead of standing in the center of the path like a dumbass."

Kagome couldn't believe what she was hearing. He was the one to run into her. If anyone was at fault, it was him for speeding through the forest like a maniac. Why was it always the cute ones that had the most attitude?

"Last time I checked, you also have the responsibility of watching where you're going. Ever hear about something called environmental awareness? Maybe you should learn how to be less rude."

The male also seemed a little taken aback by the girl in front of him talking back and crossed his arms, clearly annoyed. He scoffed and replied, "Keh, it's not like you can't take it. You'll survive."

One of Kagome's eyes twitched as she tried to calm herself down. She figured it was probably getting late and she needed to get to the school. She didn't have time to continue arguing with someone when it was getting her nowhere. Ignoring his last comment, she decided to try and cut the tension and stop the argument by introducing herself. She decided to give him the benefit of the doubt that maybe he was just having a bad day. It was the first day of classes, afterall. Everyone was probably at least a little bit on edge.

"Anyway... I'm Kagome. I'm supposed to be at Yokai Academy soon and don't know which way to go. Do you happen to know where to go?"

The male raised his eyebrow at the mention of her name. The name rang a bell but he wasn't quite sure where he'd heard it before. He was expecting her to continue on arguing with him considering how blunt she'd been so far. He decided to bite his tongue and help her out. The faster he did that, the faster he could get her out of his hair and the faster he could go about his day without annoying girls yelling at him.

"My name is Inuyasha. I'm heading there too. Just follow the path all the way down."

Kagome sighed and rubbed her forehead. That was simple enough. She didn't even remember how she wandered off the path in the first place. She’d always been directionally challenged so it didn’t surprise her. She didn't want to ask the rude male in front of her for help, but she knew if she didn't, she would most likely be stuck in the forest for a good while. She really didn’t want to be late on the first day. That would probably disappoint both her mom and grandpa as well as give her brother material to make fun of her for weeks if he ever found out. Sota was always looking for material to poke fun at her with.
