How did I get here, in this situation. Here I am toe to toe with my older brother, a skilled self defence trainer , about to try to knock him to the ground. I brought it upon myself. I was the one who said I could beat him if I wanted to.
"So first one to the floor loses, okay?" He said, with a cock smirk on his face.
"3...2...1!" He counted. He ran twords me and kicked in my direction. I dodged and turned around, not really knowing what to do. He turns around, grabs me, and puts me in a head lock.
"Come on Kate, you got to get out of it." I started to struggle more. He didn't have it too tight, I could still breath, it was just frustrating to always lose to him. I should have taken those self defence classes when mom asked me, but noooooo hanging out with my big bro when he's teaching is lame. I thought to myself.
"You give up yet?" I shook my head. I then got an idea, I kicked him in his knee. He let go and yelled, falling onto one knee. I stood in front of him.
"Haha I win,Tobi " I said. The next thing I know he's to his feet, in a matter of seconds he puts his right foot behind my feet and uses his left hand to push my body backwards. This caused me to trip over his legs and land flat on my back on the floor.
"NO FAIR, YOU HAD ALREADY LOST," I yelled as he helped me up.
"No I didn't I was on one knee, so technically I wasn't completely on the floor, but you on the other hand....." he said. I rubbed the back of my head, and he laughed,"Should have taken my classes." I rolled my eyes.
"Yes I, a sixteen-year-old girl, wants to go with my brother,a eighteen-year-old boy, to his dumb self defense classes." I walked out and went to the living room to watch tv.
(Time skip, because I'm lazy)
Mom and had been home for a while, I helped her cook dinner and sat down to eat.
"So anything intresting happen while I was gone?" She asked. I shook my head and cut into my pork chop.
"Oh come on Kate, tell her what happened," said Tobi with a grin. I glared at him.
"Kate what happened?" Mom asked. I gave Tobi another glare.
"She decided that she thought she could fight me and land me on the ground before I could get her to the ground. Spoiler alert she didn't." Mom shook her head.
"This is why I don't like to leave you two home together ," we sat for a little in silence.
"So where's dad?" I asked. Mom sighed
"He had to work late again, he won't be home till after you are in bed." She said.
"Again? He's never home!" I said. I rolled my eyes and pushed my plate away.
"Kate you know you dad's job is important to him," she said. My dad was an inventor. He had made many improved versions of other things. He was always traveling, but he made a TON of money. We lived in a nicer house on the outskirts of Atlanta, Ga. My dad was always traveling, always on tv, and always busy.
"That's also something I wanted to talk to you about," said mom, "You need to pack we are going to New York tomorrow." I looked at my mom flabbergasted.
"Tomorrow? I've got school Tomorrow! How do you just expect me to pack up and go with you and dad on another one of his business calls!" I shouted. Mom looked at me and sighed.
"He doesn't have to be there tomorrow, he has to be there Tuesday, but we want to go and get settled into the hotel." She said. "And school is another thing I wanted to talk to you about. Me and your dad think that home-school would be a good choice for our life style." I looked at mom with pure anger. I think she knew what was going to happen next.
"NO! NO WAY, I AM NOT DOING HOME SCHOOL! THIS IS SO NOT FAIR! TOBI GOT TO FINISH HIGH SCHOOL IN SCHOOL! AND WHAT ABOUT MY FRIENDS, I AM NOT GOING TO LEAVE LEXI ALONE IN THAT SCHOOL! THERE IS NO WAY YOU CAN MAKE ME DO THIS!" I shouted. By the time I was done shouting I was out of breath.
"I hate to tell you Kate, but it's already done." Said Tobi. I turned to him so fast it made my head spin.
"YOU KNEW ABOUT THIS." I yelled at him. He looked at me and I could tell he felt bad. I pushed my chair away from the table and stormed twords the stairs. I turned back, spat out an angry goodnight to mom and Tobi, and ran to my room. I heard my mother tell me to start packing, I closed my door, laid on my bed, and turned on my phone to text my best friend Lexi.
