"I am not a girl, I can get ready without your assistance."

"Just shut up and let me choose something for you." Gwen added, before breaking into a mischievous smile.

"Oh, I don't like that smile, I absolutely, bloody loathe it. " Emmett exclaimed, shaking his head at her antics.

"Oh, you love it." She sweetly stated.

"You'd be the death of me, Gwen." Emmett finalised.

"What say you? Will you go on a date with me, mate?" He tilted his head slightly, examining his face thoroughly to gauge his expression.

Emmett found himself extravagantly flustered, outlandishly feeling clustered by the overwhelming sense of euphoric exhilaration that had him rather acting as some perturbed, squeamishly insecure teenage girl who would like to dissolve herself into an endless stream of self-agonising, self-esteemed pity and embarrassment at what she had previously failed to decipher about her crush. He, at that moment, wished for nothing more than his constantly, beguiling companionship, to accompany him into the nethermost northern regions precariously overshadowed and conspicuously posing as something of an admixture between danger and adventure, he was willing to do it with the stranger. Relying consequentially on his words again, something he had started to see as an interesting development in himself, he gave him a nod in response, along with a single, certain word that had the authority over all his nonsensical, illogical, and almost extinct fears, ever since he had set him free.

"Yes."

"Really? Gods, you almost had me worried, grey eyes. But I am quite irresistible, eh?"

Dark forest green gems of the twilight had seized his heart's hearth illuminating his world in the hindsight. Speckles of Icarus' waxen wings shimmered in his enticing eyes of splendour and heavenly tide, wooing him over with his head held far too high. With another nod of his head and a slight chuckle at his sense of wit, Emmett had swiftly turned away from him for apparently, he had been caught staring at him unashamedly, and since it was an unnecessary addition to his anxiously driven demeanour, he thought it best to mismatch his fixated gaze with the overly, enthusiastic boy.

"Okay, we should go, the sun's on the verge of settin' and the things that I have ingeniously planned, just so you know, would require us to travel some distances. So, now would be the time to get movin', darlin'!" He stated before offering him his hand, with a smirk.

Emmett, hesitatingly, eyed his hand before slowly, enclosing his rather coldish one into his; entwining their fingers ceremoniously, he gave him a sheepish smile as the stranger pulled him to his feet.

"How will we go?" Emmett couldn't help but question him as they moved towards the exit of the desolated park, wondering if they were going to indeed, traverse on foot to the destinations that he had so wonderfully planned for their date.

"You'll see. Just, follow me, I swear I am not going to kill you, yet." With a wink, he gently squeezed his hand before focusing ahead.

"That is quite reassuring, thank you!" Emmett couldn't help but roll his eyes playfully at his response, he surely, was something different, he thought.

"Relax, dummy. Would you muster some patience? You're going to find out, soon."

Emmett, wordlessly, gave him a nod as he took in his surroundings. Sundown sunny eventide of the day was luminously, yet hazily sprawled into the sky, with splashes of tangerine tinted and twirled dreamily into lustrous shades of red and yellow, he could only ever wish to acquire some sort of a taste of this enticing elixir that had him awestruck like some poetic fool on a rainy day.

"And we are here." The stranger motioned towards the cherry red vintage car that Emmett had only ever seen in the movies.

"This is 1965, Ford Mustang, is it not?" Emmett squinted his eyes in concentration.

"You know your cars, grey eyes." His eyes twinkled with delight as he went to sit on the right side of his exotic car.

"Would you not drive?" Emmett couldn't help but ask the boy in confusion, who only shook his head in response.

"Not really. I want you to drive us around the city, darlin'. Is that all right with you?" The boy inquired softly.

"Sure, I don't mind." Emmett concluded before making his way towards the driver's seat.

"Are we all set, Captain?" He asked Emmett after he had made himself comfortable in his fancy car.

"Yes, I suppose so." Emmett responded as he swiftly turned on the ignition, before taking a left.

"So, where are we off to?"

"I am not quite sure, where would you like to go?"

"You have the wheel in your hands, why don't you decide for us?"

"Well, then I think I have a place that you might be interested in seeing." Emmett stated, nodding to himself in determination.

"Consider me piqued. So, how about we turn on some good ole' music, eh?" He asked.

"That'd be perfect." Emmett gave him a nod.

"You're in for a ride then, mate." He gave him a thumbs up in response.
