I Never Wanted To Be A Leader

I took a deep breath, I never wanted to be leader of hunters but here I am sitting on a rock in the hunters den with the title leader of hunters. I glanced at the hunters sitting in the den. I was about to tell them to hunt when Crimson a majestic white she cat who was sitting next to me spoke. "Aye Velocity, we got enough food?". I replied with "No, our food supplies is scarce... ya mind going for a hunt?". "Sure" she said leaping off the rock. I smiled slightly as she walked out of the den.

I leaped off the rock and padded over to a black Tom Cat who was sleeping. "Hey Echo, get up and go hunt" I said it loud enough to wake him up. He groaned "fine.". He then got up and walked out of the den.

Soon after Crimson returned with two large rabbits. I smiled and said "nice job". She smiled back saying thanks. Everest the leader of healers entered the den. "Hello Velocity" she dipped her head In respect. I dipped my head in return while also saying hello. "I was wondering if you wanted to go for a hunt.". I smirked and replied with "I'm always up for a hunt." She smiled "then let's go!" I followed her out of the den.

As we were walking I said "wait... do you even know how to hunt? From what I know healers si-". "Shut up and hunt" she interrupted me. "Fine." I replied in an annoyed tone.

We brought back one deer and Everest went back to the healer den.  Echo had returned he was sleeping on a rock like usual. A smirk slid across my face. I playfully pounced at him. He woke up startled "GAH!" He yelped then looked at me and frowned. I laughed getting off of him sitting next to him. He sat up glaring at me. "I don't know how you sit around sleeping all day... I would've got bored." "It isn't hard. He replied. I flopped down and rolled of the rock in boredom. "I'M BORED!" I yelled. I looked up and noticed he had a bone tail. "You have a bone tail." I said. ""Yeah.. I usually get weird looks and stares at it." He replied. "Well I like it! It's unique." He looked at me as if it were the first time anyone has said something like that to him. "Besides if someone is annoying you ya can slap them with your tail and they'll probably back off, yet when you have a fluffy tail it doesn't do much.". "I've never tried it.". For a second I thought he was gonna try and slap me with it. "Well, you should never be ashamed of your tail.". I said smiling warmly. He stared at me with his onyx black eyes. I yawned "Anyways I'm gonna get some rest, you should to.". "Ok" he said laying back down on the rock. I nodded and laid down on one of the moss beds.

I woke up startled hearing a tree fall. Exhausted and confused I got up and walked out of the den to where I heard the tree fall.

About a minute into waking I see a shadow of a cat by a collapsed tree. I shivered a little hoping it wasn't a rouge. As the Moon shined on them I saw their purple spots and immediately recognized who it was. "Echo?" I said getting closer. He glanced at me then said "Oh hi". I raised an eyebrow. "How'd that tree fall?". He hesitated "U-Uh... Well I- uhh." I laughed. I knew he had made the tree fall but messing with him was fun. I don't know how he made it fall but that was the least of my worries. "Well have fun making trees fall." I chuckled "I'm heading back to sleep... cya!" He sighed with relief then said "bye.". I smirked then padded back to the hunter den.
