Greg really started to come around the more we hung out. I was in the library getting another book when I heard Greg talking to the librarian. I looked up and saw him walking over. "Hey." he said.
"Hi." I said.
"Still hurt?" he asked referring to the fading bruise on my cheek.
"No, it's almost healed."
"Good."
"Can I ask you something?" I said.
"Sure."
"Um, my parents are getting remarried next month and I was wondering if you would go with me?"
"Like as your date?" I shrugged.
"I'm a bridesmaid and my dad needs another groomsman."
"What day?"
"The first Saturday in October. The 4th."
"Sure on one condition." He said.
"What?"
"Be my date to Winter Formal and to my Junior prom."
"Okay."
"Cool." he said. "Do you need a ride home?"
"I was going to walk."
"Nah, you can ride with me."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes." he said.
A week later, my mom and I just got home after a driving lesson. My dad was shooting hoops with Greg and Jr. I got out of the car. "You didn't run anyone over did you?" Greg asked with a smirk.
"Haha. I'm a good driver."
"SInce when?" Jr. asked jokingly.
"Very funny." I said.
The day of the wedding, my mom was at my grandparents house, where the wedding was being held. My dad was making sure everyone at the house was ready. I came downstairs and saw Greg sitting on the couch in his tuxedo. He looked up when I came in. He stood up. "Hi." he said.
"Hey." I said.
"You look beautiful."
"Thanks." I said.
"Are you riding with me?" he asked.
"Yeah."
Greg's hand slid to mine.after the wedding. "So, your mom and dad weren't married before?"
"They divorced for a while. They can't stay away from each other so if dad's going to live at the house why not be married to my mom."
"I see."
During the reception, I felt Greg's eyes on me almost constantly. The shocks from his touch felt right. He was my mate. I was talking to my mom when I felt Greg's hand in mine. "Want to dance?" he asked.
"Sure." I said. I followed him.
While we danced, I felt safe being so close to him. "Thanks for coming with me." I said.
"Not a problem." he said. "You owe me."
"I figured."

Nick and I were dancing. "Not bad for a second wedding, eh?"
"Not bad at all." I said. He smiled. "Especially considering I'm three weeks pregnant."
