Chapter 1

It was not any normal day for Atlas as she rolled out of bed for what would be her fresh start. It was September 1st, 1994 the year she would be transferred to Hogwarts tired of being in the shadow of her older cousin, Viktor Krum the best seeker to walk the Earth as everyone put it. She was overly nervous as she took a deep breath trying to relax herself. She loved her cousin dearly but the constant fake friends and talk about him was slowly getting on her nerves to say lightly.

She went to take a quick shower and prepare for her day before getting dressed. She opted for a more suitable attire for today wanting to make a good impression. She slid on her black leggings, put on a black fitted shirt, finishing it off with a pair of blacked short heeled boots and gold earrings and necklace.

"Atlas, we need to leave in 20 minutes to make sure you arrive to your train on time, darling." My mother spoke softly, peeking her head through my door.

"Yes, mother." I responded by taking my gold necklace and putting it on and it was passed down through my mother's side. The Gaunts, who I did not like too much but they were family and the stories of my grandmother always made me happy, since I never got to meet her. So I held on to my necklace as a sign of my love for her. Other than that my mother never really spoke of the past and I have learned not to ask.

I looked more like my father then my mother. I had my father's skin complexion but tanner from summer sports, and my hair curly just passed below mid back. Sadly I got my mother's height as I only stood 5'4 on the shorter side of my family but the eyes I loved. Like my mother's, my eyes were a light brown with just a hint of red in them if the sun hit them just right.

I threw my curly hair into a high ponytail and finished loading up my trunk before walking downstairs knowing our house elf Ralbey would bring it down for me. She was a loving elf who I would miss while I was away but she promised to send me treats if father would allow it. We weren't rude to our house elves like most pureblood families, we just saw them as an extension of ours but, father was adamant of us not getting too attached.

I greeted both my parents and Ralbey as I sat down at the table, my mother cutting up her food and eating while my dad read the morning paper which displayed the events that recently happened at the World Cup.

Ralbey placed my food in front of me which was just toast with scrambled eggs topped with a slice of melted cheese, and a cup of orange juice.

"Thank you Ralbey." I spoke softly as she smiled and went away.

"So speaking of the incident." I nodded my head slightly towards my father's paper as he flipped it over to see what I was talking about. "Is Viktor okay?"

"He is fine and a little shaken but they were the first to leave before the situation got out of hand." My father spoke before taking a sip of his coffee.

"It's getting worse." I sighed as I took a bite of my food.

"What is darling?" My mother asked with concern washing over her face.

"You know what mother. You know who, it's getting out of hand and will only get worse.

My mother pierced her lips slightly as she looked softly at my dad who held a knowing expression on his face.

"We know Atlas which is why we need you to be extra careful please." my father looked in concern. "With being a pureblood comes a cost. We are lucky we have not had to make any sacrifices, but we know there may come a time where we will have too." My father spoke softly. "Not everyone is as lucky as us my love, but let's not spoil your big day now finish up Ralbey will send your trunk to the house in London. We will apparate there and travel to the train station."

I smiled slightly, still worried but finished my meal. I put away my dishes and bidded goodbye to Ralbey before aparrating to our London home with my parents. From there we took the car to Kings Cross. After a short emotional goodbye I boarded the train where my new home awaited.

After about 5 minutes of passing other students I finally found a compartment to sit in. There was only one other girl in the compartment who was already reading a magazine that she had.

"May I sit here?" I spoke up hoping not to startle her too much. She glanced up and smiled softly.

"Of course, I doubt there are too many places to sit on this train... I am Alex" She responded holding out her hand. I shook it softly before taking a seat.

"Never seen you before, so I am guessing you are new. Don't look like a first year though." She started laying down her magazine.

"I am Atlas. Not a first year." I laughed softly. "I transferred from Durmstrang."

"That seems interesting, never met anyone from there. Do you know what house you think you will be sorted into?"

With my history it isn't hard to guess, I thought to myself. I pondered about it thinking of a house I hoped for.

"Ravenclaw maybe?" I gave a half smile. She shrugged, giving me an awkward glance before returning to her reading.

Arriving at Hogwarts seemed scary. Alex was nice enough to take me under her wing until I got sorted. Turned out she was Slytherin and now I understood her awkward look from earlier on the train.

"Where are we going?" I asked as she pulled me along her black hair flowing behind her.

"Apparently we have two other schools visiting." She breathed out making our way throughout a sea of students.

"Do you have any clue what schools they are?"

"No idea maybe we can see them approaching and know, come on keep up Atlas!" I followed her faster until we made it to the crowd of students.

When we made it she pushed us to the front as I felt my hip hit the stone wall.

"A little rough don't you think?" I asked out of breath.

She rolled her eyes before pointing ahead. " I see them. Horses?" She looked in question.

"Beauxbatons they're something."

"Seems fancy." She laughed with an air quote, as I laughed with her as we were pulled by a ship rising from the sea before us.

"Not my old school." I groaned leaning against the wall in annoyance.

"Can't be too bad Atlas, maybe the boys coming here are cute." She whispered while it was my turn to roll my eyes.

"Hardly." I groaned

"Well lets get headed to the Great Hall so I can figure out your house and I can decide if I will still be your friend or not." She smirked while pulling me along making me bump into someone slightly taller than me.

"Watch where you're going." The figure spat before turning to face me.

I knew that hair before I even seen the face but I still asked in question

"Draco?" I spoke almost a whisper it had been a while but if my memories served me right it was him.

"Atlas."

It was soft but my Draco was different.
